THWACK Monthly Mission - October 2022

Good lords, good ladies, let it be proclaimed amongst all the lands that a challenge has been put forth by the realm of THWACK. Their royal highnesses request assistance in vanquishing the knaves which dost set our countryside aflame with their most heinous acts. Through deeds most devilish, these scofflaws have waylaid travelers amongst our fair networks: rendering the paths once peaceful, to a state of discord. With your assistance, good gentles, we can make our landscape safe again for all travelers.

OCTOBER MISSION

Use the mission’s resources to complete the tasks and answer the questions for a chance to win!

Answer each question correctly during the week and you'll be entered for a chance to win the weekly prize.

Answer all 20 questions correctly over the course of the month and you'll be entered for a chance to win the grand prize.

150 points are being awarded for each correctly answered question. There are 20 questions, which means you can earn a maximum of 3,000 points for this mission.

also @KMSigma.SWI when completing the mission shortcut, this all works fine if you add to calendar it works. But if click the link on the email you get a bad request 400. assume something wrong with the email link

We've remedied the points assigments. Unfortunately, I forgot to cross the capital H's and dot the lowercase J's when I was prepping for travel to Singapore SWUG. All who are due points will have them duly awarded soon.

@KMSigma.SWI, you know I enjoy the check marks and know that the correct answers are recorded in the backend database for double checking and verifying that the points will be assigned for this and every contest. Therefore, I am unconcerned at this time that the points are or are not awarded.

I think part of the issue with people posting the exact same message 47 times is that the default view for the feed is "voted" ... @KMSigma.SWI, is there any chance at adding a user feature to allow us to set our default view? I personally prefer "newest"

I agree, the hints page given specifically mentions a log you need to check windows systems log to detect changes and the question is which logs do you need to monitor changes/compliance/authentication/network activity, unless I'm misunderstanding in the question.

So Q3 ... If no changes have been made on the backend, I believe most are misreading the question. There is a very clear list of tracking categories in the question, and one or more of the answer options may or may not fall into those VERY SPECIFIC categories.

Two things:

Hint didn't open up into new window "Pet Peeve"

I believe it is still having issues it said I check something but I didn't, unless I misread the question/answers but don't think I did.

This happened to me as well. The Windows system logs is actually included in the Hint but prompted me for having a wrong answer. Need a reset on this as well.

I have not seen the announcement for the last mission (Sept 2nd half) either. It is not surprising as these folks are tied up with the SWUG meeting in Singapore. I don't expect an announcement until after the SW Support folks arrive home and recover from the jetlag.
