The roll out is the challenge. 1600 locations means a phased roll out. There is quite a bit of work and planning. We have hit as many as 4 in a day but doing the math, its taken us since 2018 to cover the every changing enterprise. We also have to deal with acquisitions and divestitures. The overall management is much easier working through a partner.
We also have partnered with Windstream for our SD-Wan services...and I agree the roll out was a bit of a challenge, but once the roll out was complete...the benefits are seen quickly.
I am preparing my network for SD-WAN, but we don't have any plans at this time. Our operation is driven by the 911 application!
Currently using a small deployment, less than a dozen sites. Monitoring the system is a bit awkward at first, looking to monitor the netflow/sflow next.
SD-WAN isn't a challenge for the organization. But designing it, getting the right hardware, software, and configurations, working with multiple WAN vendors to ensure they understand our needs and goals--those are the challenges. For the organization it's transparent and seems to "just work". For the Network Admins, it's a baby that needs planning & care & monitoring.
Meraki rollout was fairly smooth.... their dashboard makes setup pretty easy.
SD wan is managed by Orange and they havent configured the snapshots properly , we are getting wrong data for Current traffic
alright
