File compare monitor

It sounds pretty simple and I'm suprised this isn't available already. Either that or I'm having serious problems finding the appropriate monitor for this.

I would like to compare \\server1\share\filename.dat with \\server2\share\filename.dat. with a simple TRUE or FALSE.

Either a simple filename check or a checksum compare would do in this case.

Does the file \\server2\share\filename.dat change often or at all?

The files are published on one central server\share 1-2 times a month and are then distributed to 10+ other remote servers\shares as they are processed by a central system. The files are not changed during the distribution, but the file names change with every new version that is being published.

We would like to verify the existence of these files on the remote servers, either by filename or checksum comparison, simply by comparing them to the original files. File Existence or File Change monitor would not work for this kind of operation since they compare towards a static filename or checksum that are specified when the monitor is created.

Sounds like sizor is looking for a diff command like monitor (unix diff command). I would think it could simply return a yes or no for a match, or possibly a 0 or 1. Potentially it could return with an appropriate parm the differences between the two files which could be useful in generating an alert if needed or even for histroical tracking purposes.
