Dear Friends,
I need to monitor Proxmox VE in SolarWinds. Could anyone please guide me on how to add Proxmox to SolarWinds for monitoring?
Thank you for your support.
Monitoring Proxmox VE with SolarWinds isn't natively supported out of the box. But you can use SNMP to monitor it. If you have mib you can create custom device template and start monitoring it.
Proxmox Cluster support was added in 2025.4 which is currently in Release Candidate testing. Note that it's expecting a cluster - single node monitoring is via SNMP as @naveensingh43 says, or you can install an Agent on your VE server. This is how I'm monitoring my lab but bear in mind you can only get server telemetry and not the VMs.
If you have a cluster you can go through the Add Node dialogue and select 'VMware, Hyper-V or Nutanix entities' - the prompt doesn't yet include Proxmox but once 2025.4 goes GA it hopefully will.

@fop thanks for sharing
you can convert a single proxmox node into a cluster. Just follow the cluster wizard
Proxnode4 is a single node cluster
upgraded to 2025.4.0 GA how do you add a proxmox cluster to Virtualisation? Still only get Hyper-v VMWare and Nutanix under virtualisation. trying to add under any just fails
add node, in the polling method use the „virtualisation“ method and then you can choose proxmox.
However, the Proxmox virtualization option is a new feature that is only available with the Hybrid Cloud Observability (HCO) license model, specifically under the Essential and Advanced tiers.If your environment is licensed under Basic or other non-HCO license models, the Proxmox option will not be visible in the virtualization wizard.
