Reservable Labs & Items (Not Single Assets)

I never really understood the point of being able to reserve an asset in WHD... Usually stuff that needs to be reserved in one unit full of multiple assets. I have TONS of examples.

We have 3 computer labs all consisting of 30+ computers. Currently teachers reserve the Lab for use in a binder in the a central location.

We also have 2 Mobile MacBook Pro Labs and an iPad Lab that are reserved the exact same way.

Next we have a TON of "Multimedia Carts" that consist of a ELMO Document Camera, DVD/VHS player, a powered speaker and a few have projectors (the ones that don't connect to SMART Boards in the classroom)...

SOOOOO Why not have a Reservation Tab or a Lab Reservation Tab where a user can select to reserve a room that has assigned assets associated with it and make the reservation view available in a calendar format to the users. (The Calendar in WHD now is pretty useless IMO, make it useful like this). Also 2 of the Labs have a rotating assigned reservation time but sometimes the teacher chooses to give it up at their time. You could have a recurring preset calendar made to reflect their times and the user, if wanting to, can choose one of their times and change it to "Free"

This way teachers can see when they can use a lab and when they cannot or a multimedia cart. This also would be great for the Tech Dept because if I need to work on Mobile Lab Machine 20 and go to where the Lab is housed and it's not there I ether have to look in the binder to see who reserved it at that time and if they choose to give it up on that day I have to wander the entire building looking for it.

Would just make life so much more simple.

I have a ton of ideas related to this so if this is going to happen (I REALLY REALLY hope it does) I would love to be of any help. We have looked for web based software to do this but could not find anything. This could possibly put WHD ahead of any other products.

I'm not asking for this feature to be in WHD I'm begging....

Some further ideas:

-Time Slots / Class Periods

-Ability for a Tech to take a Lab, Conference Room, "War Room" or Mobile Devices out of service during specific times for maintenance.
