We have a ticket that was recently closed (01845032). On this ticket we had not been able to ingest traps for certain nodes from a customer with no NAT, where the rest of our customers are using NAT, and we are getting errors in the Solarwinds logs for duplicate nodes, but there is only 1 instance of that polled IP;

2025-01-20 12:46:16,714 [42] ERROR SolarWinds.Orion.LogMgmt.LogServices.Common.NodeMapper.OrionNodeMapper - Detected duplicate nodes for message which came from source with IP/DNS name: 172.16.2.4.
Support advised that this is due to the nodes themselves having multiple other non-polled IP's, and solarwinds does not only consider polled IP's but the non-polled IP's as well, and if there is more than 1 instance of this then it will not be able to ingest the trap for that.
Was advised to create a feature request for this by support to hopefully get this changed in the future so we can ingest traps for non-NATed nodes.
Many thanks
