I just got off the phone with "DameWare Support" and I put that in quotes for a reason..... and I am thoroughly convinced that the DameWare Suite is practically dead. I am very, very saddened by this because I love DameWare but I think SolarWinds buying them has killed the product. The support rep I spoke to had no clue what-so-ever. all he kept saying over and over was "i have never seen this before". I was constantly being put on hold for him to ask other people what to do. His solution to the problem in the end was to run the central server components (Central Server, Internet Proxy, and Mobile Gateway) all on one machine because it was the only way he could get all 3 components to show correctly. The documentation clearly says this is for evaluation and not for production (production is what I am trying to setup) and is the most insecure deployment method.
in the end, I ended up telling him to escalate the case but I have a feeling I will be looking for a product from a different company. So very sad to a product that I have been using since the 90's and have loved since day 1. so very sad indeed....
