We have many of our internal customers using UDT and it would help them from picking up the phone to ask if a port is err-disabled if they could see it themselves.
On a related note, I would also like to see speed and duplex of port.
I personally think this should be part of NPM as well.
Big time saver.... ability to reset that would be sweet too....
How about an alert that can call NCM to reset the err-disable port? That would be a good solution if UDT can let us know when the interface goes into err-disable....
Also the ability to reset MAC-Sticky.
I've been asking for this for years as have numerous other users. This is critical for those of us in the Cisco world. Uplinks and user ports go error disabled after flapping too many times due to errors or loss of carrier. Currently they just show as down in Orion. Engineers or NOC personnel don't discover that it's actually error disabled until the SSH into the device and do a show interface. In our environment, we don't like to have too many people have ssh access directly to the routers, so what happens is a NOC tech sees it goes down and then opens a ticket to an engineer, who then goes poking around to diagnose the problem. Wouldn't it be nice to give that engineer a head start by having the NOC tell him the interface went error disabled. That takes several steps off the diagnosis process.....Just sayin. This is not hard to fix from a developer stand point
Just had this issue yesterday. Orion just said the port was down, but it was err-disabled.
Indeed. Our biggest problem with err-disabled interfaces is due to port-security. We would like to allow level 1 to move endpoints on port-security mac-address sticky enabled switch ports. They need to be able to reset port-security mac-address sticky information on the old port and new port, and reset the err-disabled ports.
Is this being worked on in the next version of UDT?
I have setup an advanced alert that triggers when port security is invoked.
My Trigger is when all apply
field MIB is equal to the value CISCO-PORT-SECURITY-MIB:cpsIfPortSecurityStatus
field status is not equal to value UP
field status is not equal to value DOWN
Triggered actions is:
Event Log ${NodeName} is ${Status}
Send Email, plain text, body is:
There is a port security issue on ${NodeName}
After that is triggered maybe someone can come up with the other piece for NCM, at least you know when it is err-disabled.
Can you export your condition and send it to me?
Sure...where would you like me to send it to?
I put it in the NPM general content exchange here:

Thanks, I downloaded it. I would really like them to get this feather in UDT, and display the status of the port as a red color or other color when the port is in an err-disabled state.
I will try this. I have several ports on two switches that randomly goto err-disabled.
I would like to see this as well! How do we vote this thing up?
Woo Hoo!!! Its on the list!!!

Finally. Can not wait till this comes out.
Been trying to search for a possibility to track err-disabled ports. After reading through thwack posts, I guess the feature is still not out yet.
Very cool, is it down or not connected?
When will this be available? Looking for this on Arista.
