Add a field to the New Line Item Editor that has a Quantity field

We use the Purchase Order system extensively, and it is great for asset management and warranty tracking. However, we purchase significant quantities of assets at once on a single PO. (Think 200 Surface Laptops, and 200 docks, and 200 pens). Currently, this means hitting the (+) repeatedly to duplicate the asset. This is brutally difficult to not only create the 200 entries, but to be accurate in the number that have been created. Additionally, it makes the Line Items display afterward a massive wall of information. What would be great to see is a Quantity field added so when you're creating the line items, you can just say "200" in the quantity field, and then the Line Items generate a Line Item Header with an expansion that expands the line item to show the 200 slots under it. For Example, this would take the "MeLE Quieter 3Q N5105/8/128" and have it as a single (bolded would make sense) header item, that when clicked on, expands to show all the individual asset lines underneath. I think this is a good idea. Can you elaborate on the use case in terms of how your approach is easier/more efficient, than using the "Import PO" feature under Setup>Data Import>Import PO's?

I have customers who prepare this within Excel and then just use the PO Import.

We don't use the import feature. In fact, the import feature would be a detriment to managing additions and deletions of items when stock is not available, quantity changes, etc. The preference is to enter the POs directly within the system, with each line item being managed directly. While its an option to use a 3rd program to manage the POs, we prefer to stay within the software to do this. Also, even if they're imported, you still wouldn't have a collapsible menu to keep organized, and the multiple items would just continue to get longer and longer. Having the quantity field that then expands gives us the ability to view the items as both an overview, and line by line as needed. Additionally, I'm not a fan of the CSV import system in place. It too easily in the past has overwritten asset data or created a new asset because a space wasn't noticed on import, so we actually have had devices listed as example "Laptop - Touch Capable" and "Laptop - Touch Capable " - which skews the inventory counts until it is noticed. If there was better error checking or a verification system a la "This looks similar to xxxx already listed in the asset system, are you sure you want to create the new category", it would be more valuable, but that to me is a lot more work with less overall benefit to the quantity field.

I can see your pain but for most, a PO is an Accounting function rather than a Help Desk so the control would be on that side. You also have the fact that Assets is not a chargeable module in WHD so little incentive for Dev to invest much into this area.
