As per this thread here, I am officially adding this request for voting in the NCM feature request section.
In addition to honouring the filters applied to an Inventory report when exporting, there are some pages which do not allow copying of text.
Using the NCM search function (configs and nodes), I can see the output on my screen, but cannot copy the output to my clipbaord to paste into an e-mail.
Sending screenshots of text, is not a great way to share information with others.
The workaround is cumbersome - click on the config file to open the config.
Do another search in the config using the Web browsers search function (CTRL-F), copy the text.
Then hit the browser back button to return to the NCM search and refresh the page to redisplay the results.
Repeat as required to copy the text from multiple configs into one e-mail or document.
In addition to this we require a menas to export the output from a config compare page.
We are using the compare configs feature for our change control:
1) Download running config just before change
2) Make changes to device
3) Download running config after change
4) Refresh NCM node details page and click on "view changes"
5) Export output from this page into the change control (MOP) document.
Step 5 is the piece that is currently missing.
Another scenario is comparing the configs between 2 devices.
In order for me to have out implementation team take action on misconfigured devices, I need to be able to export the differences to Excel (inclucding the colored highlighting).
