the physical connection to a server is down, but NPM also generated alerts for the Juniper units (like the sub-interfaces on a cisco) that represent the individual VLANs on that physical connection.
NPM should recognize this can create a dependency automatically between the parent and unit interfaces so alerts, etc do not appear when the parent interface goes down.
