License based on Product not Number of disks

What if you went to a product based model, where for example i have a EMC vnx 5400, so each product was $700, unlimited disks, and then my dell and HP arrays would each also be $700 for unlimited disks, you still have $2100 but i have all my disks in those arrays covered, rather that trying to budget past my 50 disks in EMC so i can manage my Dell and HP again.

Actually, I would rather like to see more granularity with the disk based licensing. In a product based licensing model those who are at the entry level of a product always get screwed, while those with a fully stacked array would get rewarded. It would also be very difficult to coordinate pricing for all the constantly changing array models of each vendor. I would much rather like to see the ability to combine/stack disk based licenses. For example if my array just happens to have 305 disks installed I would like to be able to simply add a 25 disk license to a 300 disk license instead of having to jump to a 500 disk license. This kind of more linear granularity would be helpful for the customer and also manageable for Solarwinds.
