It would be beneficial to include changes in text-based custom fields (single-line text and multiple-line text) in the ticket history, similar to how tech notes are shown. Other custom field types, such as drop-down menus or radio buttons show the actual changed values in the ticket history--this is highly valuable for ticket audit and reporting--and this ability would increase the usefulness of the text-based custom fields as well. As it stands right now, we can see in the history that a field was changed, but not what the change actually was.
