This is kind of a niche request, but highlights a problem I've come across a few times, usually ending in a work-around from solar winds support. On occasion I will view a metric in either VMAN or NPM that I want to add to a node view or create a report on. Sometimes it winds up that it's impossible, which seems odd as Orion is capturing the data and is able to display it in one form, but not add to a view or put in a report. It would be nice to have all captured metrics available to add to views/reports. Here's the most recent example:
I had a support case opened with solarwinds support, and we weren't able to achieve the desired result - I was advised to start a feature request on here. I had a request some time ago from a DBA to report/view CPU ready time. The other day, I stumbled across a detailed chart showing this metric in VMAN, but can't figure out how to get it to display on a node's view in NPM. The only method I have to get the DBA insight into this a convoluted series of clicking.....(using the canned NPM views)
From the node, click 'virtualization summary', then in the 'virtualization manager tools' section click 'view performance'
This takes me to a 'virtualization performance explorer' screen with a dialog box to 'select a performance metric'
This is the first and only place I've ever seen some of these metrics, including 'cpu ready %'
I select the metric and I get a wonderful graph that I can manipulate sufficiently for the data I need insight into. What's difficult is, I can't get this detail to display on a node view, and after an hour on the phone with solarwinds support, I was only able to get a 'work around' in a custom chart report that gives me a less detailed view of a similar metric "max/min cpu ready" or "average CPU ready" as a report...not the greatest.
I am aware there is a "resource utilization" resource I can add to a node in NPM that does report the CPU ready, but it's a very small, not customizable view of several metrics.
