I was told dashboard was not an option for WHD hosted due to performance reasons. That is absurd. Dashboard should be able to run on the hosted version.
If your techs start using the dashboard as an alternative to advances searches, your hosted WHD will become hosed. Seriously. The problem is that these nice and helpful little pie chats and graphs are continuously querying your DB. This puts a strain on the entire system and cause it to crash.
In my environment we had to separate the DB to another server to help keep whd from becoming bogged down, the hosted version probably does not allow this.
Hi Bryan,
we are working on this right now as part of rewriting WHD front-end and removing dependency on Web Objects. Dashboards are now a bit greedy in terms of resource consumption, but we have a plan to improve that and make them more flexible in terms of layout customisation and with more options for views etc. So please stay tuned!
