Currently we have ~400 Trap rules configured in SolarWinds Trap Viewer that alert on ~500 devices. Each SNMP Trap rule is configured to alert on a certain type of error across all devices. This works fine for us, our only concern is when a device spams the SolarWinds Trap Viewer with SNMP Traps. We could enable alert suppression in SolarWinds Trap Viewer, however this would also suppress alerts of the same type for other devices if sent in the suppressed period, since the SNMP Trap rules are not device-specific. I’ve noticed that there is no hostname/IP address condition under the ‘Trigger Threshold’ Alert Suppression tab.
This would significantly improve alert filtering without running risks of missing critical alerts, especially for larger networks.
Thank you for your consideration,
