Presently, one can only Replace or Append the Client association and Notes fields using Bulk Actions, but not clear out the data completely. No text string (blank char, " ") can be used to effect this change.
From what I've found, there are only 2 methods for clearing out these fields:
- open each asset and change manually, or
- create a humongous Excel spreadsheet and use Data Import > Import Assets.
The impetus for the request is to allow our techs to be able to perform these actions without resorting to creating and importing a cumbersome spreadsheet, especially when the computer they are using does not have any spreadsheet software installed, or when they are using an iPad which has no facility for processing spreadsheets through the WHD web or native app interface.
Lastly, data loss can occur through user stupidity through the Data Import utility. Amazing at it may seem, not everybody grasps exactly how a spreadsheet works.
