World Map Zoom

When I first open the World Map, it is greatly zoomed out to the point is shows four full earths. I have to zoon in quite a bit to actually seen anything relevant. I assume this has to do with the screen resolution. Is there a way to set the zoom level so that it is centered on a single globe?

If you add the Worldwide map widget to a page, click edit on the widget, you have the option to set default location and zoom level:

Follow up question. Where do I find the world map widget? When I create a map widget, all I get are the custom maps I've built. I'm not seeing a world map option.

It's a specific one, called "Worldwide map"
