Does anyone miss the physical SWUG events?

I feel like I might be the minority here but did anyone miss the physical SWUG events.

I know we had a the virtual ones and they do hold value but I felt that they don't carry the same energy and social factor as physical meetings.

I could be the cynic here and feel the move to virtual was not to "increase the number of people who could attend" but was linked to reducing cost which also is intertwined with the fact that SolarWinds has been brought our by a private investment firm which are often seen as entities that seek to maximise profit about everything else.

Ignoring that cynical comment I just felt that the virtual event lacked that social energy and the physical events was one of those rare times where been autistic I enjoyed the social aspect.

I'm prob the only one who feels this way but I do prefer the physical events I felt they offered a better networking and learning experience.

Agree!  As a customer there's way more advantages to in person like

1. Finding and networking with other SW users in my area.
2. Sharing & learning from peers rather from sales who only knows marketing stuff doesn't know the product.
3. Actually interacting with SME's and not someone from marketing.
4. Getting away from the office.
5. A level of free training.
