Is WHD Adequate for non-IT Asset Managment (e.g., MRO Items, indirect, non inventoried material)?

Greetings!

Before I commit a lot more developmetal time, I am wondering if WHD is a good platform to house my largely indirect material and service purchase orders? I have seen some users ask for an ability to enter PO data so we can have an electronic system of record outside of our ERP, but the answers are dated and said that WHD doesn't support direct PO entry. Can anyone provide any advice? Am I looking a the wrong platform ?

Hi BPWH,WHD is primarily designed as IT help desk and asset management software, .We can use WHD for non-IT assets, which would depend on the specific requirements, using custom field configurations. Do try it out

Thank you! Specifically I am thinking about the intake/form process of purchase orders. After I posted this yesterday, I saw an informational box in the link Pabely provided below, "This feature is not designed to replace your company’s current accounting or ordering systems. Web Help Desk does not create purchase orders, but rather stores information about purchase orders."

As I digested this news, I thought I could use the ticket functionality with custom fields for PO-like requirements. My only hesitation would be with multiple line items on a PO where I would want to be able to audit each line for purchase price variance exercises. I'm thinking I can add a multi-line text field but parsing out the description and unit price might be an exercise in futility.

Was the use of Tickets and custom fields was what you were suggesting?

Why not download a trial and have a play with what WHD can offer, I think you will be surprised at what WHD can offer out of the box without any programme code put in place.

Unlike many other solutions it doesn't require an army of expensive developers to write specific forms, business rules and integrations.
