Just upgraded to 12.8.5 and can longer create new clients by email. Option to do so is enabled (See images below), attempted to toggle the option to no but auto corrected back to yes. Tested with multiple email accounts.

Looks like your LDAP Client Connection is now invalid. Did you run the migrate.bat script after upgrade?
No, I've never run that after an upgrade. What's that do?Also, we can create tickets via email from an existing client. It's the unrecognized 3rd party email accounts we're having trouble with. So not in Active Directory to begin with. And no problems that I've seen with the nightly sync.
I have a ticket open on this now.
Interesting, do let us know how you get on with Support
Support suggested I check our AD/LDAP connections. I couldn't at all understand why it would matter, but...the password for each connection was out of date. We updated the password for every connection, and we are now able to accept and create clients/tickets from unrecognized email addresses!! I still don't quite understand how the AD/LDAP connections would matter for unrecognized addresses, but WHD must query AD first before accepting the email and creating the client??? And because it was unable to do so, it rejected the messages.
That would make sense, I have seen this before when the AD/LDAP connection account password becomes outdated or flagged in AD as locked.
