How to use a 'Pipe' in Device Template

I'm running in to an issue when trying to use a pipe in a device template. Here is what I'm trying to have ran:

However, SolarWinds errors out when I test it and is unable to handle the pipe, at least in raw format. Is there a solution for this or a work around?

Thank you for the advice @stuartd . I was trying to get the '|' symbol to function in the device template which gets assigned to a node, not the NCM config templates. I did figure out what was going on though. The '|' is supported directly in device templates but apparently the config output was still too short and SolarWinds was discarding it. I also found you can create a custom Macro in NCM settings and call that macro in to those templates which also works. The fix was simple, I just added some 'fluff' to the end of my command string to make the config output longer:

Using the NCM custom macro:
