Does anyone know the reason to why I keep getting this alert even when the nodes are UP and running. Can someone with a similar experience share their thoughts and experience on how they resolved this issue.
Can you share a bit more detail? Does ICMP (uptime) polling work? You mentioned three separate polling methods. Are there more nodes affected? Here are some links to get you started:

Are you using a mix of all 3 SNMP, WMI and agent ? As well I am assuming when you did add the device this was working.
Is your SolarWinds platform stable enough ? Are you following the best practices' and are your SolarWinds Pollers good (I mean you arent overloading your pollers, making sure the latency is less, pollers are well placed to talk to end devices, DB looks good etc)?
Do you have regular maintenance window to patch and reboot your SolarWinds VM's ?
