Schedule muting for nodes each week to coincide with maintenance window

Hi all,

I would like to schedule muting for nodes to coincide with our weekly maintenance windows. The gui can only handle one scheduled muting window at a time and therefore this would be needed to be set manually before each weeks maintenance window which is tiresome to do each week.

Is there a script that somebody uses that can automatically mute and unmute nodes at the same start and end day/time each week?

For example, every Sunday mute nodes from 9am and then unmute them 2pm?

So far I haven't found anything that can do this, (although there are similar queries out there) so hope someone can help me to finally sort this out.

Also, for the custom property version of the script I did not understand the last paragraph as follows: "As the date time field forces the use of Date, and we are only interested in time we strip out the date within the script and replace it with the current Day. You need to back this up with a scheduled task as well, to make it sure it updates each day.". Are you able to clarify this?

Have you tried the first option, because it is not only unmanage. It has a mute option. Two and three options are still there but SW is already moving away from that. You will need to replace that with a dynamic one, I haven't touch that for a while and I no longer have a Solarwinds environment so I can't verify things you can try out.

I just checked out the first option, but don't see anything other than unmanage in the tool. Do you know where the mute option is hidden? Thanks.

Why dont you try using unmanage utility from console. Using this option will be useful as it create task scheduler based on the time lines.
