Broken direct link to ticket request type after update to 12.7.1?
I'm hoping this is an error on our part and not a bug, but it seems that after the update, the ability to link directly to a ticket form is broken. We've tried with a few browsers, a few ticket request types and the functionality no longer seems to be there.   Here's a sample URL we use to direct users directly into a New-Hire request type.  … (Show moreShow less)

Support is looking into it. No answer yet.I hope there's a solution as this is having a big impact.   I might also have an issue with incoming email ticket being broken but still investigating. We setup a "secret" inbox monitored by WHD for emails from our HR employee exits system. When an employee is scheduled to exit, this email creates a…

dark235 - I am really having a hard time following what you are trying to accomplish and where you are having problems.    Before I was able to click on an object in my map and have it show the connected objects and interfaces. JB - Was this from Network Atlas Maps, or are you referring to the contextual maps that live within details pages?  In…

Yearly Task Bug
Click to view contentTrying to set up a task to run every year on January 1st. I'm picking interval monthly > every 12 months > each 1st day, starting on 01/01/20, as shown below. But I'm getting next scheduled date of 01/01/21.     If I choose a starting date of 01/01/19 (or any date prior to 10/31/19), I get a next scheduled date of 10/01/20.     What am I… (Show moreShow less)

Hi,   This is a very strange bug but I was able to find a workaround. If you set the start date to 12/31/18 and have the time set to 12:01 am you should get it to start running on 1/1/20. Attached is a screenshot. I hope this helps!   -Brendon

Alert Engine - Maximum Rules Processed.
Currently we have somewhere around a little less than 200 active alert rules that the alert engine has to process in our Orion deployment.  I'm wondering if there is a maximum number of alert rules that the alert engine can handle and if anyone knows what that number might be?  I didn't see anything in any of the support KBs that would answer that… (Show moreShow less)

Time spent on any ticket per day by technician
We pass around tickets a lot and several people might work on the same one. Can I run a report or query that adds up the cumulative time spent on all tickets per day by technician?

From the looks of it setting up the report this way should work. I believe it's pulling the time that each tech was assigned on a ticket and the ticket was open. So it should show then how long each tech was working on a ticket. Hope this helps!   Brendon

Packet Loss measurement on NetPath, "bugged" with 8.1% packet loss
Click to view contentHi all,   Is this co-incidence? Many NetPaths created (including 2 NetPath services on the https://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/  site) always show the end destination hop with a magical number of 8.1% Packet drop.   Have any other Thwacksters come across such behavior in their NetPath setups? Unable to troubleshoot the real cause of the Packet… (Show moreShow less)

I OFTEN FIND THAT A PERSON WHO CITES SECURITY AS A CONCERN FOR NOT MOVING TO THE CLOUD IS USUALLY AWFUL AT SECURITY.
So, just ignore them.

Day 13: Alert
Click to view contentThe Origin of the Alert When I was five years old, I loved tales about soldiers.   So, settle down and let me tell you a story about some soldiers.   In the late 16th century or thereabouts, while journeying through Mont Blanc, an Italian infantryman saw a band of invading French men and shouted to his comrades “All’erta.” The Italian soldier’s… (Show moreShow less)
