The model of the units is Stulz CyberOne COS-120-AR-D-EC with E2 Microprocessor Controllers. In such a case how can monitoring be established.
I'm not very familiar w/ those units, so I would ask a few questions:
1. Do they have NIC ports?
2. Do they support SNMP?
If so, it should be a fairly straightforward process.
Otherwise, you could get yourself a few network monitoring devices that do support SNMP and go from there.
They are CRAC (Air conditioning units) manufacturer is slutz. Yes they do support SNMP. Can you please provide more details on how can snmp be used for monitoring them?
Setup SNMP on the devices, and then setup some logging monitors in LEM. From there, you can generate whatever rules/alerts (bells/whistles) you would like.
We have configured SNMP V2 on the devices.
The corresponding OIDs seem to be not supported by the Devices. Is there a way by which Temperature and Humidity can be monitored.
You could go with an external solution: AVTECH - Monitor Temperature and Environment Conditions with Room Alert Devices and GoToMyDevices... Anywhere... Anytime…
A custom poller is your likely solution. Universal Device Pollers (UnDP) included with NPM may also help.
Search Thwack for "Custom Poller" and you'll find some resources like this one:
You can see if the manufacturer has a mib available and if so you can create custom pollers for the metrics that you want to monitor.
Alternately if documentation is not available you could do a MIB walk of one of the air conditioners and see what it returns. The tool to do that is
buried in a subdirectory in your NPM server.
