Well, when I tried it, I only got back nodes that were unmanaged. I guess since ping is still working, the database sync field must be getting updated. Great idea though!
-
For 2000 nodes? Surely, you jest......
-
What I was told by support is that you can overwrite their entries and add your own. However, they may disappear when next upgrade, so it would be best to keep your SQL available for later in case you need to modify the database again. The only downside I see is that you do not get control over the little graphic on the…

Perfect. It took a little for me to figure out the syntax for changes, but I'm all set. Thanks much!
-
Ah, I kinda figured this out. I did not READ the title of the filter options I was working with. If you use a "Resource like All Volumes" or "Volumes with High Percent Usage", you get a "Filter Nodes (SQL) option. However, if you use the "Top XX Volumes by Disk Space" Resource, the filter option is titled "Filter Volumes",…

That has not been my experience. I have HP Proliant BL460c G7 blades in a C7000 Chassis that have no Hardware Health information when polling with WMI. Mount points all show up, but no hardware health in the List Resources list. This is on NPM 10.4.2 and SAM 5.5
-
Well, you already have my vote. As for reasoning, I checked the RFC and it states: "The vendor's authoritative identification of the network management subsystem contained in the entity." Well, VERITV/EMERSON/LIEBERT devices all have the very similar "network management subsystems". The same webcard that can go into any…

My diags are 29MB and the logs are 4MB.....not going to fit in an email. Can you suggest an alternate method?
-
Solarwinds.ServiceHost.Process in all cases.

I find that an odd reply, and the values are polled, just not saved:
-
I'm sure it can be gathered through the MIB, since NPM is getting the value and displaying it, even if it is not saved. But it's always cool when it work like you what it to out of the box!

Good thought. Doesn't work, but a good idea I had forgotten about. A very hard coded view.
-
The problem had something to do with my credentials. Even though I had all rights, I could not add a group. I created a new account, and all is well.
-
I have verified that the switch in question has snmp ifmib ifindex persist on it.
-
For others reference, this worked perfectly.
-
Interesting. Our Veritas NetBackup 5230 Appliance specifically states that it is RedHat 6.8
-
Yeah, but i was was thinking more binary like on my Data Center A/C unit dashboard I was hoping to use a graphic to show whether is was Heating, Cooling, Free Cooling, and Humidifying.
-
Did not work for me. I got same errors that I get when I do not change the SQL code. Anybody else have an idea here?
-
Excellent answers. Some are a bit specific to devices that have CPUs, but the more generic ones worked for me. Also, Tech Support finally sent be a report that will show every single object that is not responding: On web reports: 1. Create a new report 2. Select custom table 3. On the Selection method drop down menu >…

In the first case, yes, everything is running perfectly. The problem is that I moved from a physical to a virtual platform and changed the IP of the server. The devices that are having the issue being polled need to change their SNMP settings to allow requests from the new IPs. Easy change. But, how do I determine which…

I totally forget about Reports. However, I don't see how they help be either. Once the report is generated, how do I get it to Excel? Best I can do it Export to PDF. Again, there is no raw data export.
-
Bump. Same issue. Two APEs, no working agents after upgrade.
-
I got the firewall admin to allow SNMP access so now it is SNMP managed and I have the interfaces monitored. And yet, still nothing shows up. I think it is time for a support case.

Here was my list from mostly Cisco equipment. INSERT INTO [MacPrefixes] VALUES ('0059DC','CISCO ADDED','Cisco'); INSERT INTO [MacPrefixes] VALUES ('AC44F2','CISCO Phone ADDED','Cisco'); INSERT INTO [MacPrefixes] VALUES ('382056','CISCO Phone ADDED','Cisco'); INSERT INTO [MacPrefixes] VALUES ('046273','CISCO AP…

I agree with this assessment. The MAC vendor database is hopelessly out of date. When looking at the Port Details widget, UDT has no idea what most of my systems are, so I have started entering them into the database through SQL. I have added 57 Cisco prefixes for phones, APs, and voice gateways, and as well as one for…

That would be another way to handle it, and probably should have. My original question was more about why the syntax is different when they are just supposed to be SQL filters, which no one can answer, and that's fine (really only a Solarwinder could). I often am just looking to see if others have run into the same…

Yes, that's great. More info than is needed, but I'm a lot better at removing it than getting anything to work. I'd be thrilled to see the code!
-
Thanks for steering me in a good direction. Table worked well, expect I'm going to need to figure out how to filter the data out as the standard method only let's me filter on Nodes or Volumes, not both. Off to learn SQL or SWQL!

Is there a way to see scheduled Mutes? I have an extended power even in a couple weeks and scheduled several devices to mute there alerts at a certain time, but i want to see the list and be sure it is correct.

This would be awesome!
