Has anyone at SolarWinds addressed this? I like the tool, but not with the vulnerability.

Is it possible to monitor a CA and report back on expiring certs?
-
You can plan all you'd like until you find out there are several projects no one mentioned.

I just sat through a presentation for a SaaS-based monitoring service. While not specifically APM, the idea of losing the ability to see my dashboards and for my systems to lose the ability to report on anything during an internet outage seems crazy to me. I sit in the same building as my data center along with many other…

I mean...why am I doing anything if the end-user can't use it?
-
Would it be possible to please change my username to User?
-
Thank you, this is exactly what I needed.

Are you concerned that you might be over your license or do you know that you are and are wondering about the consequences?
-
Thanks, that was going to be my next step, but wanted to see if there was something else before I disrupted my services.

I don't know that it is on all alerts. Like I said, this was from an out of the box alert titled "High CPU Utilization with Top 10 Processes" which I modified slightly. If you have that alert and don't have the time checkbox, maybe using the trigger action escalation is your best bet. At least with that you could delay any…

Judging only by the image you posted, it looks like you only have devices on your map given that the icons are circles. The example I gave would be for interfaces, which on my maps show up as diamonds. (I definitely took your layout idea, by the way )

This is an example for Netflow: http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/TrafficAnalysis/Summaryview.aspx?program=815&c=70150000000CgeI I got to it by going to Solarwinds.com, going to the products dropdown, selecting Netflow, and the button for it is right next to the free trial button. Not all of the products have an…

We usually do SNMP as well. I'll have to try a few as WMI and see how it goes. Thanks

I am seeing this issue on NPM 11.5.2. It is very frustrating.

I was able to take one of the offered online sessions which covered alerting, which covered alert suppression (or at least he said "alert suppression" when discussing this part). I was able to create a whole new separate condition to check for this. Basically, I now have the alert check for both the IP address I want as…

I am not aware of alert suppression or how to set it up.

This worked for me, thank you!

Edit: Nevermind, the job was still running. It seems to be working fine now. Thank you. The job log even looks better now! While that did correct the event log reporting any issues, the nightly job is still not working on all devices and seems to be only downloading running configs on the devices it is working for.

Oh wow, you just blew my mind with that one. I had no idea that labels could have variables in them. Thanks for this!
-
Thank you, this helped me look in the right direction. In our case, it seems a device had been configured as a failover using 1.1.1.1 and 1.1.1.2.
-
I had a problem with that too. You have to pick one of each 1-6. You can't rank mulitiple items with the same number.
-
Just saw they were restocked!

I would agree with everyone here an say the second method is what I would go with. It seems like the first method would require Orion to check the database for current and previous status vs. just the current status of the node. Just seems cleaner and less strain on the DB.
-
I like to unmanage until I'm sure it's dead and not coming back. After that, download a copy of the config and save it somewhere before you remove the node.
-
Sorry, I panicked. There are instructions for this here: Configure the SolarWinds Orion server to use the correct syslog port - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support
-
User Device Tracker is a separate module. Device Tracker and Switch Port Management | SolarWinds
-
If I remember correctly, one of the options you have in your trigger along with a node being down or up, etc., is to check if the condition has changed as well.

The NPM 12 beta gives a lot more info into stacked switches. My beta has expired and I've gotten rid of the VM, so I can't recall exactly what you can see, but I know you can see the CPU for each and power ring info. It might be worth it to see if you can get in on the beta if they are still open to new invites.

I'd like to hop onto this thread as I am having the same issue on NPM 11.5.2. We have an internet line that we are paying for 10 Mbps, however we burst. We know we burst, but the graphs stop at whatever I set the custom bandwidth to. We have the custom bandwidth set to 10Mbps so that we know what percentage we are using,…

Were you able to find a resolution to this? I just noticed I am having a similar issue. I've created new groups that don't seem to work and moving my user account between the groups I've set up leaves my logging into the original group I was in. EDIT: I just saw your other post where you mentioned that removing the group…
