I see that this is one of the top feature requests for NCM. I'm curious, is the request that we build more config change templates or build more device templates? The original request was certainly to add more config change templates, but the comments are all around device templates. I suppose one way to distinguish…

I'm glad you are seeing the value in this; if you've seen the WWWO we continue to work on ACL management. Building reports for these ACLs is one area of low-hanging fruit; extending support to other flavors of ACLs is another. Keep the ideas coming!

Hi Richard, NCM can manage the ASA-code based VMs running in an FTD deployment today, using NCM v7.7, the same as if they were standalone ASAs. As luck would have it, we're scheduled to speak tomorrow afternoon on a different topic; if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to take some time during that conversation to learn more…

Richard, this might not be completely obvious, but if you click on the "61-70" link (or "1-10" for the first page), you'll be presented with a box that lets you choose from 10, 25, 50 or 100 results per page. We'll see what we can do to make this more evident.

Thanks for the feedback! There's certainly room for improvement here - we are considering adding the interface information as well as breadcrumbs to navigate back to the list of ACLs.

Edward, sorry to hear about the issues you've encountered post-upgrade with NCM and NPM. Have you submitted a support request? I'd suggest that as a next step; I'm not aware of others having similar issues to what you've described.

josh.haberman as mentioned in the documentation here: "SolarWinds Support cannot take calls on SolarWinds NCM Connector because it is a free tool. SolarWinds NCM Connector is supported through the SolarWinds NCM area on THWACK, however." That said, this is something that we are evaluating, since the Connector has no value…

Richard, thanks for your perspective. NCM excels in providing automation to reduce or eliminate human error as well as manual effort. We started firmware upgrades with IOS, extended it to ASA in the last release, and as you know we're "working on" Nexus support. With regards to building your confidence, you might be able…

Thanks for the feedback. It's a great point, and there are several areas in the product that we can relatively easily improve the extensibility. Some that come to mind are CVE reporting, firmware upgrades, EOL/EOS reporting - are there other areas that you are thinking of? And, of those, which would you prioritize highest…

Martin, We've built a good framework which we believe will fit the requirements for many vendors, starting of course with Cisco IOS. In NCM v7.7, we added support for Cisco ASA, and as I mentioned in the post above, we're looking to extend this for Cisco Nexus. Yes, we're a bit Cisco-heavy, and to address that I've asked…

Hi sja, We're paying close attention to the top feature requests, looking to find intersections between broad portfolio initiatives (Network Insights, for example) and specific customer requests. NCM v7.7 is a good example of this, delivering a set of ACL management capabilities although targeted initially at Cisco ASA.…

Hi Jon, What version of NCM are you using? It looks like there may have been a bug in earlier versions of NCM but this was fixed in NCM 7.5: ${CRLF} does not work in config change template - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support Hope this helps, Tyler

Hi Karunakar, You may have already seen this, but if not, hopefully it will answer your questions. Install SolarWinds NCM Orion platform products: integration support If you are integrating SolarWinds NCM with another Orion platform product, the other product must be installed first on the host. SolarWinds NCM version 7.6…

Hi Christopher, I checked in with the IPAM product manager. Neither of us are aware of a known issue in this area. I'd suggest opening a support ticket (Submit a Ticket | SolarWinds Customer Portal ) and letting me know the ticket number. Best regards, Tyler Product Manager, NCM
