just asked the sysadmin, he confirmed i am now missing 2gb and the only thing done to this server is adding 10-15 subnets in ipam
-
just saw the other issue (name) i believe the same fix will solve this issue as well >trigger alert when any of the following apply >>name=gw1 >>name=vg1 etc
-
are you the one configuring the boxes you will be monitoring? if not, then you must supply the read only credentials to the person(s) responsible for config management. i would highly advise against using the default which most of the time is "public" and sometimes on by default. once the device is setup with your read…
-
i tried both, neither worked
-
i am at a standstill with IE, FF seems to work fine. i will continue adding subnets with FF and report any problems here.
-
also, you can right click the device in the node list on the left and it will give you the option to "download configs". which it will do at the present using the same credentials. this way you dont have to wait on the job to run to test things.
-
one more thing. i can understand how the web integration might make the product more appealing to new customers. i also cant see the reason to remove the console for those of us who prefer it.
-
i do not get traffic statistics on the stackport interfaces
-
sorry, i assumed you had ncm which looking back you never did say.
-
make sure for the device template you select "cisco adaptive security appliance" rather than auto. this was causing most of my issues
-
thanks for the reply. yes, snmp polling of the device itself is working fine. ill run a dump and see what is going on. i was just hoping someone know of a known issue or tweak with the app monitor timeout setting
-
i mistyped that, didnt mean to assume you didnt like the merger
-
not at all ? for you, do you use ncm to backup your sidewinder?
-
thanks for the response, i will pass the info along!
-
i am also an avaya voice shop (used to be data as well) and have 2 s8700s at my primary site, a single ESS server at my backup site, about 20 remote sites consisting of a g700 and an 8700 and all of it being monitored in Orion.
-
man i feel dumb. i didnt realize you could set actions to different times of day!!! many thanks!!!
-
thanks for that info C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Solarwinds\ is only 25mb, i guess that rules that out orion, ncm, and ipam are the only things running on this server im thinking it may have been tmp files that were written then deleted, i may have been mistaken on the original 4gb guesstimate…
-
if i read understood you correctly, i think you need to add another tier to the alert and add an "trigger this alert when any of the following apply" and then add the locations >trigger this alert when any of the following apply >>location = usa >>location = europe
-
thanks for following up, but that now changes some of the remaining instructions, for instance: * Back in the command window, type whoami /USER /FO LIST * You should get APMUser SID this will actually get you the admin SID or will it work also?
-
here is a screenshot for you, just change this to "no enable login"
-
call and open a ticket, it will take them seconds to reset it and about 10-15 minutes to propegate. i just went through the same with my entire server last week, good luck. its relatively painful from here on out
-
is there any way that i can send it somewhere i can see it? every time the alert triggers it is after hours and then as soon as it resets back to normal it appears to disappear from the alertstatus table
-
IE 8.0.6001.18702 i will test with firefox 3.0.9 seems on the app side since it is random, its happening now and i cant add a subnet at all i will attach a screenshot this time
-
agree, i think you found the problem
-
did the network have a lot of unused addresses? i just had one take 2 hours also but it only has 4-5 addresses in it (/24). mine did finally finish though
-
you are correct, i had the devices in orion by the loopback ip, and in cirrus by the interface id. when it integrated them it added duplicates into orion. when i removed them from orion it removed them from cirrus as well. hindsight being 20/20 i now see why it acted the way it did when i removed the devices in orion.…
-
i just created a service account and use it exclusively
-
from the menu selecting nodes/edit multiple nodes will also get you there, you can then select which nodes you want to change
-
glad to help, if you go look at your windows scheduler it actually builds the tasks there. sort of a front end i guess. im windows stupid so im kinda glad it works this way. if only i could get my sysadmins to create a service acct so i wouldnt have to change the password here everytime i change it on the domain hahaha

is a safe assumption that you dont have NPM? I am not trying to rub salt in the wound by any means but this is an option in advanced alerts. I cant think of any way to do it via NCM though.
