Thanks for the feedback on the upgrade guide! If we can find a way to merge them into the One Guide to Rule Them All, we would. For now, you can use the guide and PUA exported PDF together. The Product Upgrade Advisor is getting some updates when the great GA comes. *Addition!* Until the PUA is updated, you can use this…

And a big bit of news for the APE/AWS installer for SAM 6.3: a new Scalability Installer! This installer is lightweight and can be run on your additional polling engines, additional web server, and SolarWinds HA servers. Here is a neat KB on the installers: bundle and the new Scalability installer! Orion product installers…

I'll see about getting docs updated with more of this info! Thanks all around.

Hey there just an FYI! I'm keeping watch on this discussion/question in case the docs need to be refined, easier to follow, etc. for permissions and unknown states for AppInsight for SQL, etc. Thanks! ~Lori the SAM doc lady

Aha! Linux Agents are still in progress. Those requirements may change when it comes out. For now, I am removing that info. But it will return when Linux Agents go live. I believe you can watch the SAM 6.3 beta for updates on that feature.

I can add that note to the documentation to help understand what the RabbitMQ port is used for. Thanks, mbussey!
-
Thanks for the heads up! I'll get that over to the team asap. For now you can also use this link for Agent requirements - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support .

On another note, we want to be sure folks know about these ports you may see for RabbitMQ: Ports 4369, 25672, and 5672 are opened by default by RabbitMQ. These ports can be blocked by the firewall. 5671 is the important one for messaging.

Hi there! I do indeed know the location to the KB: Latest required software used to monitor hardware health @ Success Center Hmm, the information may need a review and updates. Just wondering what method you were using? Were you upgrading one server entirely, cloning, then pushing the clone to the other server? If you want to upgrade without the cloning method, you need to upgrade one product per version on secondary then primary, in tandem keeping both servers equal in installed product…

Great info! I'll add some tips, troubleshooting, and info to the Custom Template Guide on PowerShell scripting.

Sure! If your main poller or additional web server is a Windows Server 2008 R2 box, make sure any server with a Windows Agent installed in agent-assisted mode uses port TCP 17791. This port is required to communicate between your main/additional pollers running only on Windows 2008 R2 to WIndows agent monitored servers.…
-
prawij Is right! You want to shut down the services across the pollers, and upgrade each poller, one at a time. The upgrade guide for NPM ( NPM Upgrade Guide - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support ) walks through how to upgrade in order. In the Upgrade NPM section, step 2. And it's great you are asking questions.…

Super welcome! I have a ticket in to have it fixed. I'll ping back when it's done.
-
I highly recommend using all of the exclusions listed in the KB based on your OS. Those exclusions have helped with all possible issues you may come across due to antivirus checkers, especially when troubleshooting. I'll chat with the guide writer and team to verify exact items/have the guide updated!

Hi there! It can definitely look different between the two ways you can add it: wizard vs manual. If it would help to have a screenshot of those differences in the help/admin guide, I can get that in next update. I'll keep watching this topic just in case! ~ Lori the SAM doc lady

Have to agree, that is an awesome page of links and info! Definitely following it. Thanks CourtesyIT!

IPAM 4.3.1 is supported on NPM 12. For RC, I created this doc to help with compatibilities with NPM 12: https://support.solarwinds.com/@api/deki/files/14288/PUA-RC-Compatibility-2016_1.pdf The Product Upgrade Advisor also was updated to provide the best upgrade path (definitely shows it's compatible). The demo also shows…

Hi jonathanswift! Unfortunately IPAM 4.3.1 is not supported on SAM 6.3, NPM 12.0.1, NCM 7.5.1, NTA 4.2.1. These latest product versions require IPAM 4.3.2 that was released in June 2016. It's not so much a gotcha, but more a compatibility requirement. When planning the upgrade path working with the Product Upgrade…
