I did end up getting a 2010 package to deploy properly. I ended up copying our network install over to a directory on the server itself, then publishing the .exe and adding the remainder of the files as additional files to be used in the package. This included the custom .msp installer that I had added the AUTO_ACTIVATE…

Is this a Flash update from the SolarWinds catalog? If so, specifically which package?
-
That did it! Thanks for your help. This will save me a ton of time.

Update --------------------------- EminentWare Registration --------------------------- Setup was unable to register the EminentWare Server. This can be caused if the Primary Application Server Service is not started, the service's computer has a firewall blocking the request, or the current user is not allowed to register…

The other component of this scenario, which directly affects Local Publishing, is that there is a dependency in the Local Publishing API that requires both the console and server in a WSUS environment to be at the same exact build level. Not only does the update need to be applied to the WSUS server, but also to any remote…

The "Site Server" and "WSUS Server" rules only manage traffic targeted specifically to the site server or the WSUS server. To assign an Automation Server to an entire "Site" of computers, you'll need to identify how that site is defined -- by domain, orgUnit(s), or (most typically) by IP Subnet. Then create one or more of…

Right - so are you just leaving the command-line arguments text box blank when you construct your package?

Looks like I found the issue. I created a seperate group and enabled auto approval. The auto approval works fine for patches downloaded after the fact. I still had to approve the first 2000ish patches. Once they were approved they downloaded. Sorry, patching is not my forte but I am working on it. Thanks again for the help.

I currently have eminentware running on win 2003 server 32bit. In anticipation of the possible up coming release of a 64 bit version of eminentware I would like to move my eminentware sql database to our companies 2008 SQLServer. I understand the process of detaching and moving the database, however I am not clear on how I…

Hi Jeff, your welcome. During installation, we install WSUS (console only installation) if WSUS 3.0 SP1 or later is not already installed on the local machine. One of the EminentWare setup pages has a URL that links to the WSUS download. Currently, this download link is to WSUS 3.0 SP1 ( we released this before WSUS 3.0…

Okay, I've been able to update the agent. Is there a way to set the default download locations for the agent and not have it go back to download.microsoft.com/.././/.etc.
-
Greetings Jake. We found an issue in this package for 64-bit systems and are working to remediate it immediately. We will send you the updated package as soon as it is available.
-
Update on this issue. We are supposed to see a public hotfix for this in March. Thanks to everyone for their patience.

Yeah I had that thought as well however in my environment servers get added to the domain and removed on a regular basis so I fear that the groups wouldn't get updated. I am testing using a WMI filter to query the servers role in the domain and assign to a WSUS server based on that role. eg. 2 GPO's linked to an AD site, 1…

It is going to be available in the next release. We are working hard towards our first BETA.

Hi Jeff, please send a email to Customer Support with your availability and we will schedule a online meeting.

hmmm.. I just edited the same query from the dell's OpenManage template, but edited for 2 models of PC, instead of the 600 in the original

If you have space sensitivity issues, then yes. But I doubt that you're going to be deploying "All Critical and Security Updates" in manner such that space is an ongoing consideration. (The amount of space used by monthly updates is measured in 10s of megabytes, not hundreds.). Also, generally speaking, the WUAgent is…

If the EminentWare software and the WSUS are on the same server use the local administrator account.

I've seen another that caused the error 1064 which i'll post for other users that may find this thread: If something has changed permission to DCOM on the EminentWare server, the 1064 error can be encountered when the EminentWare Data Grid Service service attempts to start. (If the Console is started when this error is…

I am getting this error now. I have configured the sccm server per the administration guide. When I click on updates that is listed under the sccm server I get this error. Hi, x64 is a feature request we are currently implementing. No date as of yet.

Thank you Lawrence. And sorry for this break in communication, I was on an Easter leave. I am very sure that something is not working as supposed to. Let me describe the package I have made in detail so that you can better investigate it and the others interested see what I woulld like to achieve. * Package Titel &…

I downloaded the Adobe 10 catalog and that seemed to work fine importing into Emientware. I think Adobe made the catalog available for products similar to Eminentware like SCCUP(sic) and such. Just my 2 cents.

Are these machines showing the MSP as applicable?

If you already have a database service (SQL Server 2005 or SQL Server 2008) installed on a server, the Extension Pack can be configured to use that database server. If SQL Server 2008 will be used, you'll also need to install the requisite SQL Server 2005 components as discussed in this forum thread. The Deployment Guide…

I've configured the second server as only an automation server, have set the automation server rules so that each wsus server will handle the request and I'm still getting server2 executing tasks to clients that are on server1

David, yes this is the real time view.
