Well restarted our primary polling engine and this additional poller still not allowing devices to poll. Same co worker that recommended we try rebooting the primary gave suggestion to try but not sure I feel comfortable doing it. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/message/214877#214877 Scroll to last entry

My environment is very large. This is just one instance, the nodes with the names that start with the 3 letters are the only devices they want them triggered on for now. This is to trigger only on 10GigE and 100GigE interfaces on those devices. My concern was that on the sas devices I see there is traffic but they haven't…

Well there is no way to capture the history of the memory on the box, so that idea is not going to work.

Do you have a good link to swql ? Microsoft sql server management studio gives an error when I run the query. Msg 195, Level 15, State 10, Line 3 'daydiff' is not a recognized built-in function name.
-
Well that answers my question if it works in NPM 12. We upgraded to 11.5.3 a couple of weeks ago and having a heck of a time with alarms missing. Thanks for the info, I will see if logging out and back in helps.
-
I have not checked that but will. I honestly don't know who created the script in the first place. I will let you know if that is the issue

Here is a portion of each chart from the node details page, but I want them (1) horizontal chart instead of separate vertical charts. The label names are so long to keep on a node details page because then that messes the format of the page for all views in my environment.

they are assigned to a group yes.
-
I did exactly what you said and here is what happened when I tested.
-
What will happen if I turn this off, besides the obvious it won't discover Layer 2 and 3?
-
I don't believe there is an access-list or firewall. I have a total of 24 additional polling engines (counting the one having the issue) and none of the other additional polling engines are having this issue. these are VMs, all windows based boxes.
-
I have run the config wizard on the polling engine and no change in nodes not polling. I am able to ping and snmp walk from the main orion poller and the additional polling engine. Both complete successfully.
-
co worker seems to think it is caused by our primary polling engine. Service was unable to open new database connection when requested. InvalidOperationException: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occurred because all pooled connections were in use and…

I asked the question - Will there ever be a time where packet loss is 100% other than when the node is down? Here is what the response was - It is possible. In past history, I have seen packet loss go to 100% when servers have multiple hung processes and possibly very high CPU load.
-
Even if it is Phone switches
-
Well, Not sure I follow. Are you saying that if the node goes down then the 100% packet loss alarm will trigger? What if the node is up, will it still trigger if packet loss is 100%? SNMP Config? Are you talking the SNMP Walk?
-
Yes they do. Rebecca Murphy | Systems Engineer I | MISM| Service Delivery Systems - OSS/NMS | 314-543-5625 (O) | 314-452-4968 (C) 12405 Powerscourt Drive, St. Louis, MO 63131

We were doing that. We logged in directly to the device and checked what Orion had...granted they were different. We found one Cisco device CRS-8 worked with a custom built poller but tried the custom poller on another device and it didn't come back with the same result. Our Juniper devices we were able to correct that…
-
Yes, I checked another router and it is reporting properly for CPU Memory. The two devices are the same IOS for Cisco. I will check that out. Thanks
-
Are you talking about how they are polled in Solar winds? If that is the question the answer is yes, set up exactly the same on solar winds side. Now as to how each box is configured is a different matter. They are all supposed to be configured the same but I am not sure if they are.
-
not seeing those options above so I guess I will be opening a ticket. Thank you for all the help. It is appreciated.

This is for a normal alert template so when the trigger action happens it sends a trap to monitoring software our NOC uses called Web top (netcool). The Version of NPM is 11.5.2. I have not tried to create an UnDP not sure how to go about that when this is as I don't have an OID/MIB. Going to run the configuration wizard…

We had already applied the hotfix 6. We had the problem previously but not as severe after upgrading to 11.5 and adding hotfix 6. I have a support ticket open so far it is in the developers hands.

I had a question on this query. We currently have a recording and my boss wants to change the frequency in which it logs in and checks the application. Here is the recording: We want to change the frequency of the checks to like 10 minutes, where would that go and am I on the right track?
-
Thank you so much for the information. I read the link again and realized our servers are not using external source for time synchronization.
-
I am a bit confused. So the time synchronization is controlled by Active directory? I thought that would be controlled by the server and the date/time settings it has set. So say if it is set for pacific standard time then all alerts would trigger with that time stamp?
-
Stopped working on the 4th of Jan but didn't see any emails or I could have missed them until the 23rd of Jan. No other pollers are having the same issue Not sure which snmp string you are referring to (the one for the poller?) Yes this is the only service failing at this time.
