I will echo jp and mention that removing the Solarwinds directory and the Inetpub directory from scanning by anti-virus does miracles. Radically improved performance! Do this first if you are allowed to change the folder scan settings of whatever anti-virus program you use on the Solarwinds NPM server. If you can't change…

Correction - the prior poster was spot on about patches coming out on 12/14 and 12/15.

Called Solarwinds support and the staff member answering the Tech Support line pretty much what is said here - two versions of the Orion Platform are impacted by the hack - 2019.4 and 2020.2. Earlier versions are not impacted. They also stated fixes are due out very soon - believe it was two or three at most.

After what had appeared to be a relatively successful migration I too have found this error on all of the nodes monitored (a bit less than 2700) - again going from the 2017 Platform to the 2020.2.1 Platform. A minority of the nodes (about 3%) signal a false positive down state as well. Might a Configuration Wizard database…

The following may or may not apply to your situation but keep in mind that nodes or interfaces can go into an "unknown" state for many reasons. One reason I found was due simply to utilization of bandwidth. If you have an interface that suddenly shows up as "unknown" it could well be that it is overloaded and because of…

I would like to add my voice to the chorus asking for the ability to change X-axis and Y-axis scaling. My reason is simply to make comparisons between two date ranges easier to interpret by making scales the same instead of pegged to the data contained in the charts.

We have a couple of McData fiber switches that are being discovered via SNMP and their type shows up as nothing (a blank.) We are running version 8.5.1 of Orion NPM SLX. Is there any way to fill in the type field with some sort of symbol/icon? Paul

+1 as well. This is important not only for auditing purposes but to help with communication between staff that is often over-taxed with projects and tasks and have little time to tell why they un-managed a node - or just simply forgot.

Any developments on this? I add my voice to this request as I agree wholeheartedly with the earlier poster whom said that the multiple-nodes approach to multiple IP addresses on the same router or switch doesn't please non-technical users, especially those whom are impatient and in a hurry for an answer or information.

Thanks for the quick reply - will do.

Simple, sweet and super. Thanks jtimes!

Well, I feel pretty dumb (or dumber actually.) Suryanto (I guess in the Singapore office) responded with what should have occurred to me - stop the NetPerfMonService.exe instance using Windows Task Manager. Doh. Did that, ran the configuration wizard and all is well. Paul

Good for you Alex. Your post made more than one person smile in our office.

I believe that what you are experiencing is that the display of node hostnames varies as you zoom in and out - this is because at full zoom out you may have many sites bunched so close together that it is difficult if not impossible for the application to discern between sites and their individual nodes. What you need to…

Thank you Richard for the method of limiting nodes using a custom property - I will probably have follow up questions for which I will make sure are not 'yes/no' queries.
