Thanks, this did the trick. This option must have been perhaps auto selected when HF1 was applied yesterday, as the problem didn't arise during that install.
-
Seeing the same thing, "Ooops...we detected a problem Unable to start preflight checks https://support.solarwinds.com/Success_Center/Orion_Platform/SolarWinds_Installer_interrupted_during_preflight_check And of course the provided link goes to a 404 as icing on the cake.

Ok looks like those three were addressed in 2020.2.4 per the release notes: https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/Success_Center/orionplatform/content/release_notes/orion_platform_2020-2-4_release_notes.htm
-
Looks like 2020.2.4 was released on the 25th of Jan for this - however there is nothing specific about vulnerabilities fixed, was it just the new certificate that's included in 2020.2.4? "The most severe vulnerability (CVE-2021-25275) could allow attackers to exploit a vulnerability in how Orion works with Microsoft…

Yes, you need to apply HF2 to the primary poller first, then all the additional pollers, running config wizard on each in turn to finalize installs.
-
Did you reboot the pollers as part of your upgrade process? That would be my first troubleshooting step.
-
You'll need to recycle Orion services after the permission checker fixes permissions for the changes to take effect.

Hi Serena, I extracted SRM 6.5 HF1 manually from the installer package and applied it successfully back on the 18th: Re: Issue with additional poller installer - SRM 6.5 HF1 not being applied Then the only problem that was left was IPAM 4.6 HF2 - I covered the issues I encountered with that in the IPAM 4.6 is broken…
-
Fix is out, waiting until Wed to apply it myself:
-
Had a Webex with support on this a little bit ago, it's been confirmed as a bug, they are working on the fix, hopefully will be released tomorrow or Monday.
-
Thanks syncopix, managed to extract SRM 6.5 HF1 and apply that OK, unfortunately for IPAM 4.6 HF2 I get a failure saying it needed another package.....
-
So recapping the solution for this one, the issue was we had over 26 million rows in the events table (event retention set to 21 days). After setting event retention to 7 days, that dropped the events table rows to approx 8 million. At which point we could re-enable the Last 25 Events resource successfully without having…

Cloud Cost and Chargebacks were the deal breakers for us.
-
Thanks! Just confirming - no need to re-run the Config Wizard after reinstalling those three installers?
-
Seeing unexpected growth in our NetPerfMon DB since we applied Hotfix 4 on the 7th - anybody else experiencing this?
-
If you open up Orion Diagnostics and then at the bottom click on "Try SolarWinds Active Diagnostics" that will do the jet file check for you.
-
Came across an issue with my additional pollers, another error, the offline IPAM installer wouldn't proceed (different error from the one above), I ended up having to download the package from the GUI Polling Engines page, this said it couldn't find the product catalog, looked at my primary and the Solarwinds…

Thanks for the info. My concern is if the reporting starts working after creating then deleting the DirectLink account, does that mean that the DirectLink account is still active somewhere in the backend?
-
Just to close the loop, with support we reinstalled CollectorInstaller and JobEnginev2, and also fixed some permissions the permission checker found on our primary and one of our additional pollers. Maybe some kind of bug where the Config Wizard isn't running the Orion Permission Checker/Fixer correctly when doing the 12.3…

Encountered this issue today (running NPM 11.5.2, SAM 6.2.1, WPM etc with HotFix 4 applied), first indication of trouble was the DBAs noticing our TempDB volume was filling up rapidly. Searching for the long running query online found this thread, disabled the Last xx events resource view on our Home page and under our…

So when attempting to run the Solarwinds-Orion-HotFix-2017.3-OfflineInstaller package - with version number 1.3.0.484, on our additional pollers, I first get this message: When I choose to "SKIP" - given this is the "offline" package, I then get the error message one would get when the online package can't access the SW…
-
Ended up un-installing the Active Diagnostics component, the offline IPAM installer then proceeded to completion.

Hi alterego, Jet file check looks good, I have a ticket open with a bunch of diags uploaded, Case 00153573. I do have this one with warning status, but haven't heard back from the case owner yet:
-
Did you apply the latest available hot fixes? Your issue may be covered by item 7 below: "(Orion Platform 2015.1 Hotfix 4) 6. Alert schedules that occur during the Daylight Saving Time change (2:00 a.m. - 3:00 a.m.) may no longer respect your maintenance windows. 7. You receive false alerts about node reboots when users…
-
Hi Janene, Can that change be done on the primary poller as well? The issue I'm having is with the primary poller, the two additionals are working OK.
-
Thanks Alterego, an app engineer just updated the case
-
Thanks, I've got these scheduled to be applied tomorrow morning.
-
Serena: "Oh this isn't a software or installer bug. This is because our upload to our servers was timing out. It's an infrastructure thing that our IT dept resolved for us. It should be resolved by the time people check on Monday or Tuesday." Might I suggest that you don't release the updated online installers until the…
-
You could leave IPAM at 4.5 and upgrade NPM, SAM and NCM, that's what we were running for a while. At least in my experience you can choose which Orion components to install with the new Orion all in one installer. What you can't choose is to defer hot fixes - it will automatically update installed components up to the…

So I uninstalled IPAM from my primary and additionals pollers. Went to install IPAM using the offline package that I downloaded today..... And installed on the poller is:
