This would still be a great addition to the product. I realize this is an old thread but I have encountered issues where the connection is just enough to handle agent traffic and that's it. .NET and all pre-reqs are there. The agent is installed, I've even followed the instructions at the following link with some success.…

What I'd like to see is some improvement with the windows service monitor specifically. If when adding this component monitor to a node via a template it will detect if the service exists and automatically disable that component on that node if not present. Currently I have templates built out by application and they…

It would be great if during the application discovery, if it detects a failure on any component monitors inside a template (ie service not there or whatever), it would automatically disable those component monitors and prompt you for any failed monitors that are legit to keep in place. This would allow us the ability to…

Ah, that's probably what I'm doing wrong. I have it set to exact match, the default. I'll play around with the slider. I appreciate the input.

Apologies. To add to this, yes this permission is separated out now in the account permissions with the "Allow Account to Unmanage Objects & Mute Alerts" permission. However this only lets them go to each individual node details view and mute the alerts one by one. Muting multiple node alerts still requires node management…

We utilize SAM in a managed services capacity. Offering our customers the ability to create maintenance windows themselves would be massive for us. Ideally I'd like this permission to be separate and take into account an account's limitation. When a user logs in they can either set a "mute alerts" custom property or mute…

serena We have several remote SQL clusters or SQL running with availability groups. We cannot (due to our specific requirements) spin up a VPN tunnel to poll these remotely. Utilizing the agent is the only way we will be able to monitor these. It would be great if we could utilize the agent to perform this monitoring…

Was this ever implemented?

What I've found in my testing is that if it detects ANY of the component monitors in the template, it applies the entire template and doesn't disable the non-present monitors. Correct me if I'm wrong there. I might have done something incorrectly during my testing with application discovery. I'll re-test again and confirm.

This is great as I have the same issue. Do you have an example for what the record would look like? I have 5 polling engines and I'd like to set them in order to have APE5 be the default but then have cascading order down the list (APE4, then APE3, etc) Is the Priority column just a priority field for each ConnectionSetId?…

Yes @"tony.johnson" That would be exactly what I would be looking for personally. We utilize SAM as an MSP and being able to create a modern dashboard for our customers that take in account their account limitation settings is exactly what I'm hoping to achieve.

Thanks @"vinay.by" , I do remember that's possible and at the very least, this would provide some comfort I suppose. I guess I'm just disappointed that this architecture isn't possible and curious if anybody else has come up with something.

I'm not finding that issue on the orion sdk repo. Would you perhaps be able to share a link? I'd like to follow this one.

Three year old thread here but I'm looking to perform the same. I have a set of databases that are created dynamically and need to unmanage them as they are created. I was looking into creating a SQL job or script utilizing the API to automate the un-management of these databases. I don't see the issue listed in the…

I installed the hotfix and this totally corrected my issue. Thanks so much for the help!

There already is a feature request.

Thanks mesverrum for the reply. I was thinking that was the route I was eventually going to have to take. Do you have any examples that you would be willing to share to get me started? It would save me time from having to re-invent the wheel if you're willing.

Any updates on this fix? I recently installed Orion 2018.4 SAM 6.7.1 and I'm experiencing the exact same issue.

I have the exact same issue. Upgraded to latest 4.2019 HF5 and the agents started auto-updating even though I had that option disabled. This is currently causing us many headaches because on these servers there are applications that are not compatible with .NET 4.8. Luckily we didn't expose the port 17791? When I look at…

I found a firewall problem after all. The source IP was different for me depending on what port I was using due to our IT policy. Once I allowed the correct source IP through our firewall, everything started working correctly.

I am also trying to accomplish the same. I have everything segmented by custom property between customers. Up until now we have been creating individual views off of a template, but it's becoming hard to manage. Having a single dynamic view for this would save us a lot of headache. Most widgets work just fine based on the…

I'm also having this same issue but I cannot figure out how to get SAM 2019.2 HF3 SAM 6.9.1 to poll VMware successfully behind a NAT. If I add the NAT'd IP of Vcenter, it will show the hosts with their local IP instead of nat'd IP. When I go to manage the hosts and change the polling IP, it doesn't seem to associate that…

Any plans to add this in? I am curious as we are in a situation where not all of our clustered SQL nodes can have a VPN established to poll agent-less.
