The new traffic is still call coming in as unmonitored. I haven't seen anything show up that uses the "Port-XXXX" naming in fact.

I ran the script and it appears to have updated the list of ports available for netflow to report on, but I'm still seeing a vast majority of traffic labeled as unmonitored. I tried restarting both the netflow and the NNM services to no avail. Any ideas on what I'm missing?

Your best bet is going to be to set up some sort of external monitor of the solarwinds server, there isn't really a reliable way for the server itself to tell you it just lost power and/or communication with the rest of the world. In theory it would be a nice service for the Solarwinds company to offer/perform for its…

I'm told they will be adding a feature to the upcoming release that will let you pick specifically which interfaces you want to accept data from on the netflow engine. Until then, I think the #11 refers to the IFindex value. You can pull this with an snmpwalker. Paul

Man you guys are good. Sure enough, out of space. So, what can I get to monitor Solarwinds and notify me if it is down... Paul

I've been using pingplotter pro for a while and I really like it for the historical information it provides for traceroute data to the international VPNs I manage. I wish solarwinds would incorporate something like this in their product, because I'd rather not have to have a second tool for something so simple. Paul
