Has to be Ghost. Daisy didn't even put up a fight and Scooby would just run and hide under a lampshade.

Now I really want an XL Bacon Double Cheeseburger meal.

Hi, thanks for your comments. We are stuck with a couple of 'project managers' who couldn't find their bum with both hands and a map. They are causing mayhem in every project. I've raised this with senior management and pointed out how much this is costing us. I've also proposed solutions and am trying to drive the…

I do like your approach but I've seen people fired for taking it. Sometimes you just can't buck the trend. King Canute tried it.

Week 2 Q1. Thought it was obvious until just before the 15 min mark when he mentions two groups of people that makes the question tricky. Are they looking for the obvious one(s) mentioned or are the looking for the two throwaway ones added right at the end.

Unfortunately I work with someone who is exactly the opposite. He really believes he knows everything and tells everyone they are doing things wrong. The problem is he knows nothing and is the one who is always wrong. Unfortunately management also suffer from this so think he is a genius. Fortunately he recently applied…

Seen the same problem in public and private sector. No money available for anything. When we manage to squeeze a few pounds out of management it is usually for hardware upgrades to keep the already creaking systems running. If we are lucky we get to upgrade some software. Last on the list is always training. That…

Just go ahead with them. Consider it a cull of the weakest in our community. The survivors will just be stronger, unless I don't survive. In that case I get a nice wooden overcoat and a one way ticket straight down. Of course this is just in jest although I can't help but feel that the media are blowing this all out of…

Yes, who is logged in and from which workstation.

Flying taxi. That would solve my 1.5 hour minimum commute each way every day but can you imagine the fun flying over London. It would need some really serious air traffic control but at least the traffic could move in three dimensions. It would also have to be bigger as I'm 6'4".

But why would you back up any PCs. You should have one or more standard images and the data should be on the server side. That way, if a PC has an issue you just re-image the PC with the appropriate image and the data isn't effected. You could have a small set of pre-imaged PCs in a storeroom and use these as your rapid…

British Airways GDPR fine. Sounds a lot and it would have been a lot cheaper to actually prevent the data leak in the first place but their parent company made a profit of nearly £3Bn last year. It's not really going to hurt that much.

We specialise in Hospital environments so AI is very much seen as too risky yet. We have to follow the Hospital management requirements and they just say no overall even though the IT side of things could benefit without any risk to patients. There are some small signs of movement but they are very risk adverse.

Awww. I'm going to miss your Thwack Camp session as I'm registered for the alternate session. It was a difficult choice as I need to see both. I guess I'll have to watch it on repeat.

Yes. None of the answers are correct. Two are close but still incorrect according to the hint. I guessed at one which was closest and got it wrong. Happy Christmas (not).

I don't really know how the network guys are doing the posturing. I would ask them but, as usual, they are nowhere to be found.

I registered for London ages ago and haven't heard back as to whether I have been 'accepted'. I did e-mail them but still no reply. Has anyone else heard back yet. I need to arrange the time away with work.
-
Disagree. 1. Load implies work to be done (as per the dictionary) and used implies work that has already been done. 2. The other three answers matched perfectly thereby giving the impression that this answer (as it didn't match perfectly) was incorrect.
-
That's probably my biggest worry about the Cloud. Who else has access to your data and what will they do with it. Will you be responsible for any data leaks as YOU put your data there (thinking of GDPR).
-
Have a look at the hint then try again.

I, for one, welcome our robot overlords.

3rd Line Operations Engineer / SysAdmin, babysitter, councellor, Oracle at Delphi, human version of google. Take your pick.

I've just got a floor standing Dell PowerEdge which I got for free a long time ago. VMWare on it and whatever I need built inside. Spin it up when I want to do something otherwise it is off as it is quite noisy and costly to run. Mine has disks in it. Yep, that is a floppy drive

Bloody europe. Worrying about the small things whilst the world burns down around them. Leave the clocks alone and take a look at the real issues facing europe.

Digital Licence plates sounded good at first. I thought they would be a digital display and was looking forward to hacking them to display anything I wanted. Set it to display "F**K OFF" and speed past a speed camera

That's annoying. I thought I had spotted it first. Now I'm going to sulk

I had that at one client. They used their trash folder in groupwise as another message store (whoever though that was clever probably can't walk and chew gum at the same time). They ran out of disk space on the post office server so groupwise was told to delete trash. There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth as the…

Padlock doesn't mean legitimate. It's a pity we in IT have spent years telling non IT literate people that it means that the site is safe. Now the bad guys have stepped up we now have to drum it out of people. I'm constantly trying to keep my ageing parents clued up about what to look out for. Hopefully they don't lose my…

I watch videos inside my head now. No wait, that's daydreaming.

My parents think I do stuff with computers (probably play games all day) but can't really understand. They are almost 80. My sisters think I can fix PCs by magic (why would they need to tell me what the problem is) and get upset when I say I don't really do PC stuff. My friends mostly work in IT and even they don't quite…
