New E-Mail detailing about a 12.7.8 Hot Fix 1 but cannot find this on SWPortal !!
-
I agree this is still very vague, it partly implies only WHD12.7.5 is affected but without a recognised CVE reference who knows?
-
Yes, use the option in Setup > Techs > Tech Permissions > {Tech Permission group name} > Ticket Permissions > Limit to Assigned Tech Groups = Ticked to limit your Techs to only the Tickets within the Tech Groups assigned Request Types and potentially Location Group membership.
-
Correct, confusing isn't it!
-
This is possible to reset and Support should be able to help
-
If your Authentication Method Type is set to Web Help Desk then is will expect the username or email address which is defined in the Technician setup record, depending on what is set in Setup > Clients > Options > Client Login Attribute. If you want to use network logins then you will need some sort of Sync in LDAP Setup…
-
If you are using an LDAP connection using SSL then the Tomcat will need to know about the trusted certificate on your LDAP server, I think Java demands this now with the later releases. Might need to add this to the cacerts file.
-
Much better with Hot Fix 1 although some thought is needed if using PostgreSQL Database type and considering the move to PG13.
-
You should be able to run it directly from the following folder C:\Program Files\WebHelpDesk\bin\portecle-1.11
-
Big change if you are using PostgreSQL as your database, other than that a few bug fixes it appears.
-
Hot Fix is available in SW Portal under downloads > HotFixes
-
I don't believe this is possible, the assigned Client would the linked one to that E-Mail address where the update came from.
-
Thanks for the heads up @"typhoon87"
-
The reason I asked is SW documentation usually details the wrapper_template.conf eg documentation.solarwinds.com/.../helpdeskjavacommandline.htm
-
Who is not recommending updating to WHD12.7.6, support?
-
Upgrade to WHD12.7.6 as this seems resolved as per the Release Notes
-
Should this be the wrapper_template.conf on a WIndows system?
-
Support promised a fix in 12.7.6, when that arrives. A bind for Techs who have to Manage big Request Type trees
-
This is better but not fully resolved as it orders all Child Request Types so is still hard to read.
-
Hi @"amirb" Thanks for the update, this is stopping a few customers from upgrading to WHD12.7.4 now as it affects all Techs and is a big headache for them.
-
Yes, a real world pain this one!
-
Yes, Linux will show much better performance when put on similar VM specifications
-
None of our customers, is this just a US Gov based requirement?
-
We have HotFix 2 now but this was not covered within that, fingers crossed for WHD12.7.5 because when you have hundreds of Request Types this is a real pain!
-
bshopp Do you have any update on progress of the new WHD12.7.1 beta and how close or we to getting the updated iPhone App and new Android App? I'm sure we will all be interested. Thanks in advance
-
One installation per server, linked to only one database. This is the same for a licensed system as well. Does the Admin Guide lead you to think something else?
-
Hi Peter, the type of database and it's location does not affect the trial or the free version at all.
-
Peter, you should be able to install WHD anywhere, if options are not being displayed then this sounds like a browser issue. The connection settings are stored in the .whd.properties file within the Apps Server <webhelpdesk>/conf folder and can be appended afterwards. I sometimes install a straight local PostgreSQL system…
-
Yes, I can see that now. My point is it is a departure from what we had before so is going to cause issues in education (and more Tickets) for WHD staff.
-
Good luck that WHD12.5.1 resolves the issue, I have experience using multiple nodes on Linux but not Windows I'm afraid. Their gen3 licensing can be a dark art as I believe it is third party, Do keep us updated, always like to hear a happy ending, even if it is not today for you!
