Any update on this? If someone has written this into a new report can they share it?
-
+1 for the ability to use either street address or Lat/Long from an SNMP Location. We have never used the map feature, but it would be very easy to get started if we could just tell it to import all the devices and locate them based on their SNMP location information.

I just set this up to backup the our vtp vlan database. Substituted the show ip route for show vlan. Works great.
-
Our issue was related to the account that was logging into the juniper. The account needed the "secret" permission. set system login class test permissions secret.
-
Any other suggestions? I tried the Snippet and it doesn't work either.

Is there any update on this? Is it something that needs a feature request? Or is it a bug? I'm assuming the last message means it was marked for a project manager?
-
Supported or unsupported I'm not sure. I can tell you that it works fine.
-
We just purchased one of these too, so backing it up would be great.

Anyone else run into this?

Sorry this is an old thread, but I have to agree the new NCM changes aren't better. The process to create a job isn't quick, and when you do a quick execute script you can't easily see all of the results. I appreciate the workaround for the 15 min scheduling. I now have requests to uninstall the NCM 7.4 and go back to 7.3…

I just upgraded to 11.5.1 and it doesn't work. I was hoping the MIBs would be in the 11.5.1 release. How do I get a mib added?

I tried that and it does the same thing. My script is now: ${EnterConfigMode} set snmp trap-group snmp-traps targets 172.16.70.62 With the below results: [9/3/2009 12:54:26 PM] -----------------NCM 5.5------------------- [9/3/2009 12:54:26 PM] Login Attempts: 1 [9/3/2009 12:54:26 PM] Custom UserName Prompt: [9/3/2009…

Shortly after my post I found how to do a session trace. [9/3/2009 10:55:57 AM] -----------------NCM 5.5------------------- [9/3/2009 10:55:57 AM] Login Attempts: 1 [9/3/2009 10:55:57 AM] Custom UserName Prompt: [9/3/2009 10:55:57 AM] Device Template: Juniper-1.3.6.1.4.1.2636.ConfigMgmt-Commands [9/3/2009 10:55:57 AM]…

Thanks for the response. That's what I was afraid of.

I don't think that is quite it. It seems to be an issue with our juniper equipment. When I run the command I get user dave { class superuser; authentication { encrypted-password "$1$XHpRXg2S$opBiHXlXWSeYWW1"; ## SECRET-DATA } for example. The backup in Cirrus comes out: user dave { class super-user; authentication {…

This post describes how to backup a route table. This can be used to backup a VTP vlan.dat info by using show vlan instead of the standard show run.

I'm using \\solarwinds-server\e$\Firmware-Files\ where solarwinds-server is the hostname of the local server, e is the local drive where the software is stored and firmware-files is the directory on e:\. This is all local to the solarwinds server. For username/password I use a local account on the server.

I guess I need to remove the integration too, but I'd like to just disable the web page on both servers. Will just disabling the IIS Admin Service take care of this? I can stop the web page but I'd assume it will re-start on a reboot.
-
Thanks for the response. No it doesn't seem the Acme Packet can be a client. There are no commands in the CLI for ftp or scp to allow an outbound connection. I had seen the scp support in 5.5.2 but wasn't sure which direction it worked.

Not sure how to see the SysObjectID? I'm looking at Node Details on the web interface and don't see it. Are you saying look in the database? I have done a rediscover and it doesn't update the machine type. In case it helps we are running NPM 10.2.2 and NCM 7.0.
-
I tried doing just that and it doesn't validate in the NCM settings. I have a case open with solarwinds and they tell me it's not possible. The Solarwinds server is not on the domain, and the network share is on the domain. They say the solarwinds server and the archive folder must be on the same domain.

It would be nice in the future if it would be an option to only monitor on the specified address. All the other traffic is just traffic being dropped by the firewall anyway.

Anyone?
-
Any thoughts?
-
No suggestions?
-
Did you ever find a solution or workaround for this? I just started using groups and dependency records, but this is a sticking point.

bump?
