You could run NCM by itself without NPM and NTA but when SolarWinds releases an update to NCM you will not be able to update NCM unless you uninstall NPM and NTA why do you not want to keep NPM and NTA? These applications work great together especially if you Cisco ASA's or Palo Alto FW great network insight.

If you click on the arrow at the end of the message it will give you more detail about that error or lead you to a KB

You can't change that from an alert view you will need to edit the node.
