I'm not sure how this can be listed as "implemented" when the IPAM zone management scripts don't include 'freeze' and 'unfreeze' commands - thereby making it completely incompatible with any kind of dynamic DNS implementation of BIND.

I would like to see an 'auto unmanage' action within an AppInsightSQL for when mysterious databases (lacking monitoring credentials ofc) appears... many times it's our support group just making a copy of the production customer DB so they can try something, but it still costs polling resources to create table entries for…

And F5 Health monitor name/status?
-
I have the same issue - our VMWare environment is littered with custom attributes that have been in place a long time, and there is zero chance the cloud team is going to change them just because I switched to VMAN Orion polling...
-
I hate when I do that...

I have UX licenses on NPM, IPAM, SAM, etc..... but I run a completely separate set of servers for NTA @200 interfaces because I only have about 100 netflow sources I care about, and I can't justify the UX cost of NTA just so I can blend it in with the rest of our Orion system.

You got NPM to poll UCS with both local and ldap enabled? Our UCS has both, and when I use the local login for UCS NPM polling the node goes in like a normal ICMP node.... nothing UCS about it. Do you have to specify particular format for the local login? ucs-local\username?

We use Orion for all of our internal monitoring, and extend custom portals to our "bigger" clients whom we host. We have a large LDAP database where all customers maintain their login credentials to our hosted systems, ,but our corporate network is Active Directory only. Currently I have to add local users to Orion in…

We have a boatload of development sites/services that usually aren't ready for monitoring, and are often deleted/recreated numerous times before it's ready. Being able to filter out by name (e.g. -POC and -DEV) would be very helpful.

Is 5+ years of this request sitting here with lots of votes and comments enough to get some traction from the product managers? SW has added many new features - too bad I can't share them with everyone in my organization since I have to give them admin rights to look after their own specific systems... mavturner Aug 16,…

I've been complaining about the lack of multiple identity sources in solarwinds for years. Our corp users are on AD and our customers are on LDAP, and ofc Solarwinds wants one or the other but not both. The second best (after true multiple auth sources) option is to provide a radius front end so well established products…

That would be very useful for showback purposes.

This thread has been around since 2012!

Someone from SW should at least give us a viable reason why this topic has gone unanswered for so long, as bsciencefiction.tv points also requests.
-
All I can figure is that's it's either REALLY hard to do (for some reason)..... or this long-standing request only satisfies current customers - when they would prefer to focus on new things that might bring in NEW customers. Is anybody going to leave Solarwinds over this issue? I didn't think so. Sound off!!! If we make…

We have a similar situation - thousands of pool members, pools, vs, etc. The summary resource is way too cumbersome for a browser to draw. And even after you wait for it to do the initial draw, searching for a particular service, pool, etc doesn't focus on the found item, forcing a user to scroll through this huge list…

Wow this request has been sitting here for THREE YEARS?!?

I need to allow SAM admin to specific groups within our organization without giving them access to the entire template library....
-
I've got ppl asking for alerts from this group and that group, but not those other groups.... no way to solve other than open the whole smash. A set of defined alert limitation checkboxes (based on current definitions) - or an view limitation based on groups of alerts - at the account level would be swell.
-
That's probably the issue - SWISv2 was crashed after I applied the hotfix..... Funny how three chars can totally f#-up things.... I've got a maintenance window this morning - and while the Hotfix wasn't on my list I'll try it and post the results later today.
-
yes - my particular issue with AppInsightSQL was fixed with a buddy drop. They didn't tell me what was in it, other than the monitor failing to remove things from the subscription list. SolarWinds-SAM-v6.4-CUST-31877 "Unexpected System.InstanceDeleted indications This buddy drop addresses an issue where…

The hotfix came out Sunday March22 - I tried to install it the next day on one of our secondary and less visible pollers (Netflow and NPM only poller) - it didn't work. I used that one because it's only for use by the tech team to troubleshoot things and provide usage reports for specific systems. I couldn't get anything…

I tried as you suggested and it works perfectly! Thanks for the idea.

Who is 'insertname here'?

The problem seems to be related to VIM, and in my case, AppInsightSQL. The changebroker process doesn't seem to be able to disable/delete anything. So for my 5000 databases, only about 15% I care about watching with AppInsightSQL, the Unmanaged setting gets stuck in the Notificatications.Pending queue. If I re-manage…

Another piece of my particular version of this puzzle, SW Dev guys had us replace the .sdf files for the Collector and JobEngineV2 on all pollers. Since then, the website seems to be staying up, so that's progress.

It's an Orion Platform Hotfix: Orion Platform 2015.1.2 Hotfix 5 * List of vendor specific MAC prefixes updated. * Missing edit button on a COR with chartv2 resource. * Cannot edit the name of a Multi Object Chart. * Email Action breaks HTML messages. * Trap Action execution fails if the Trap template has incorrect Macro…

I had to add the network interfaces from my WLC5508 to the map to get it to render reliably.

What do your output queues look like after your method of remedy? Mine will run fast and well for about 10 mins, BusinessLayer and PubSub going great, then suddenly the BusinessLayer will drop to 20-30 messages/second, which is not nearly enough to keep up with the inbound rate. The whole thing clogs up and timeouts ensue.

Yes I received a buddy drop on 8/21/17 that corrected the issue. The root cause has to do with FQDN's. The F5's automatically append a dot on the zone and records to present a full FQDN. The IPAM product would also do the same thing, resulting in the double dot.. I think the IPAM product is assuming the use of $ORIGIN…
