Thanks ecklerwr1, turns out, this site is blocked here too. I just have to remember to sign on at home tonight and download it.

I am Bump 167.

To add on here to what rschroeder said above, perhaps some indication of what the correct answer was if you missed it.
-
Really good article, thanks. It conjures up memories of fishbone analysis. I really liked our discussion of Blameless Reporting. That is a real challenge in most environments. Looks like some, rschroeder, have it figured out.
-
Simple and concise, Thanks!

We have external customers, but zero mobile. I would like to get some exposure to mobile though. Thanks for the article aluciani.

Continual monitoring and checking is vital to a well managed network. It is well managed because you manage it. Having tools to assit goes a long way, especially documentation. How can it be managed if you don't know what "it" is.
-
Very insightful, thanks. Lots of comments about documentation and I'll add my two cents. Documentation is truly a living, breathing, and every changing thing. Once it's written down and posted, it is usually already obsolete. The hard part is to maintain focus on it and keep it reasonably up to date. As for DR, I can't…

Would certainly help with overall look of maps.

A virtual envoironment is no different than anything else. Discipline must be exercised or else you windup with sprawl. Being lazy about maintaining your networks, right sizing your VM's with cpu and memory, etc, these are all important considerations. And there is no "silver bullet" in you tool holster. You must test and…

Like most everyone else here, network monitoring is not my full time job either. Just one of the many "small tasks" I must see to in my spare time. Having SW installed has allowed me to show it is not the network. I work in an environment where there is a lot of home grown apps being developed and until I installed Orion,…

Halfway through March and I was beginning to worry we were not going to see any Bracket Battles this year. Thank you for wabbott!

DanielleH, I didn't see points added for adding my FB, linkedin, or twitter info on my profile. I haven't visited this in a while and assumed points would be awarded at the close of the monthly mission.
-
This would be a huge improvement.

Great article. The sad thing is, it all comes down to the human element. And that is where it always has, and unfortunately, always will fail. All of the training, lecturing, and threatening over how many years now hasn't produced the desired effect. Passwords continue to be weak.
-
Having great data to back you up is always important and more often than not, necessary. What is important to remember though, if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, don't try to baffle them with B$. That usually will not turn out in your favor.

Chuck Norris...enough said!

We jsut recently purchased NCM and I am chomping at the bit to get it installed and configured.
-
Working as a government contractor, this is not an option. We must disable all remote/call home features. Even on classified or stand-alone networks, the paranoia carries over here too. Our vendor has to come on site to provide any support.
-
Bummer, all of my networks are classified and I can't send you a screen shot. I guess that auto disqualifies me for the prize.
-
I like it very much. This ideal should become our industry paradigm. Adopting this attitude certainly wouldn't hurt you professionally. Always looking for what you can solve next demonstrates proactive, positive, professional, can do, and whatever other adjective you can think off. I think SolarWinds is a valuable tool…

I'm in the same boat, only saw two of the four possible answers in the hints.
