NT4 is not a supported OS for Orion. Is there an option to install Orion on it's own server?
-
Not today, but I'll move it to the feature request section. Best Regards - Andy

Hi Briant, Have you had a chance to look at this paper? Andy

Just use the edit button and change options. If you are using the default 9 min stats polling then 10 min periods will work best for the chart.

That one I don't know Byron. I'll mark it for a PM to comment on.

There are a couple of ways to find what is happening. First I would walk the MIB2 interface tables and see that they populating (not all 0). If this looks good I would do a packet capture on the NPM server and filter for SNMP to and from that device only. This may show errors that are causing the issue. One thing you might…

That workflow management is normally handled through a trouble ticket system. Do you use a TTS there. If so you can have Orion open the ticket and the TTS handle the flow. http://www.solarwinds.com/support/Orion/docs/OrionTTIntegration.pdf

The NTA charts will autoscale to the largest units represented in the time frame. Is this causing an issue? If so, what would you like to see?
-
There are 2 choices. You can add the Poll Now resource into your NPM node views. This allows you to fire off a single poll for that node each time you hit the Poll Now button. The second way is through Engineer's Toolset which integrates with NPM.

Not today but I have marked this for PM to review.

Yes - you will need to purchase a license for the web server. You can buy it from our on-line store under Orion Scalability Engines. http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.638609/n.7/sc.78/category.-178/.f

I am wondering if this might be related to your data retention settings. Can you run this against the last 7 days and see if the numbers line up?
-
Is the the Min Max Avg chart? I cannot duplicate that on my box. What versions are you using? Can you post the chart?
-
We might be able to help you get it running. Also note the v3.0 adds several IP SLA operations for full WAN testing. See http://www.solarwinds.com/products/orion/ip_sla_monitoring/

Hi Forge, The first one is easy in NPM. Just create an alert for those interfaces with the threshold. Alert me when ALL of the following apply Interface transmit bps is less than XXXXX Alert me when ANY of the following apply Interface name is equal to abc Interface name is equal to zyx The report can be made by just…

Our new product, IP SLA Manager will do just this. You configure it to have the router at the remote site access a URL and you monitor the results in Orion. See http://www.solarwinds.com/products/orion/ip_sla_monitoring/

Thanks Keith - Good stuff!!

By server do you mean proxy server? If this is the case you could try sending Netflow from an interface before the traffic hits the proxy.
-
Hi toms003, This looks to be more complicated than what we can solve on thwack. Can you open a ticket? Andy
-
I have seen this happen when the NMS looses connectivity to the network for a short time. Check your trigger conditions and see if there is a delay on the down trigger. That can cause it. See this thread Andy
-
You could do this today in NPM Syslog
-
I walked the MIB on the one I have and was able to find fan state 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.13.1.4.1.3.1 But did not find power supply or temp.
-
Last poll or last time any data went through the switch?
-
Hi cburgy, This is the first request I have seen so far for support of other brands of an IP SLA solution, so it's not on my roadmap at this point. The good news is the with Orion 9 Universal Device Poller you can create reports on these (as long as the data from the probes are stored in a MIB). Andy

Check out this paper. It has a lot of information about the SQL server. For your deployment it all depends on how many netflow interfaces yuo monitor and how long you retain the data for netflow. Netflow is very write intensive on the database so we alyays recommend RAID 10. Don't use RAID 5.
-
I could not replicate this. Please open a ticket and we'll look into it.
-
You have an active alert set to alert on Unmanaged or alert if status not = up. Have you looked through your active alerts?
-
I'm looking into this one with help from some of our rockstars. I have seen this a couple of times but not seen a solution. Anyone in the community have a solution? Also note that IPAM does this out of the box.
-
Hi Greg, You should be OK to simply remove VoIP Monitor sand reinstall. Andy

We use MS SQL Server for Orion, which does not support SNMPv3. What is that big fish in your avatar??
