I would mark them as guests using a custom property then create an alerts specific to that property and the alert threshold. Alert when all the following are true * CPU greater than X * Is Guest equal to Yes

Can you post a screenshot of the trigger?
-
Does the Test button trigger the action? If not, are all the permissions in place to allow the remote .bat?
-
Hi tkelly, We have a NetFlow remote receiver for just this case. Sales can give you all the info. Andy

They are all saved in \Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\Reports. Just copy and store where you wish.

Is this an upgrade for NPM? What version of NPM are you installing on 2008?
-
Use this....
-
for 2 can you post a screen shot? for 1 check your sql and npm servers time/date settings
-
Checking.... OK - when you go into the portal click on License Management and any additional pollers you have purchased will be with the products you have in the center of the screen. Andy

Does the "Allow monitoring of flows from unmanaged interfaces" option help?
-
You can control alerts in Advanced Alert Manager without using the web at all. All Programs -> SolarWinds Orion -> Alerting, reporting and mapping -> Advanced Alert Manager
-
Can you post the report in NPM reports content exchange and mark it s draft only - I'll have a look at it.

Make sure NetFlow is configured on each interface you wish to see NetFlow data for. When you expand the device in the NetFlow Sources resourse do the interfaces show up to date NetFlow data?
-
We have seen this when a repair is run after applying SP1. The repair removes SP1. Could that be the case there?
-
No, do this in Settings-> Manage Nodes

Hi pguenther, IP SLA should be deployed on your WAN. Andy

How do they define a free port? Not in use now, not in use this week or some other criteria?
-
Are you saying you created a custom property name that you need to edit?

Hi dehgan, If you have the NPM and SQL running on the same machine it will be slow. Is it possible you can use a sepetrate SQL server not on a VM?
-
In the Cisco world you can set the source IP for the flow, as you describe. Can you send me a pcap of the flows coming into the server?
-
STrange! Can you send me a pcap from the NTA server out of band?
-
I have seen that. I reloaded the router and it started sending flows again. I did not try re-entering the netflow configs but obviously that is less intrusive. I would do a packet capture on the NTA server and see if the flows for that interface are halting when the interface comes back up. If that is the case then TAC…

Do you get any specific error?
-
There are a couple of things to avoid. Don't use SQL express in production, especially with NTA. Use Standard SQL Server. Don't install SQL on the same box as you Orion products. Virtual Manager installs on a VMware server as a virtual machine, so that install is seperate. You can install NPM, APM/SAM and NTA on the same…

Looks like flow export is not supported on that switch. Take a look at LaPoint's blog on how to get flow data from non-flow switches.

Hi douglak, It does looks like you are specifying some really heavy duty hardware. The disks normally are the bottleneck. Because you are striping the rule the more spindles the better. SSD is much faster but I have had no direct experience with it. NetPerfMon can not be split between machines. Andy

Latence and jitter are smaller the better metrics, but MOS is larger the better. If all of those are going to 0 you may have a missing data points. Check you SQL servers disk write queue and see if you are seeing counts over 5 or so. Also any info you can give on your NPM server (#Elements, #IP SLA ops SQL Storage etc.)

This is the issue of flow deduplication. The short answer is yes, each NetFlow exporter will report the traffic indenendently and it will sum at the higher levels.

I think we need to clean up that description. The resource you need is the Multiple Object Chart.
