If you assign a port to a multi-port app it will only be part of that app., so port 80 would stop showing up as HTTP

I have heard talk of Cisco implementing XML management for ages. No official statements to that effect though.

If you are on 3.1 and under maintenance you can preview it now,

Hi Brian, I'd like to discuss this out of band a little. I could not find your email address on your Thwack profile. Andy

You are probably running into the defect derhally describes above.
-
Hi Corey, Strange this is only happening on switches. Looks like it's NF v5 .. is it mixed switch models or all the same? Andy
-
It looks like the ASA is only exporting templates. The OS version and some detail on the config will help.
-
It is a known bug but we don't have a fix date.

Various KBs and thwack tips. Looks like they need a meta KB. I'll add that.

I think so. The most common killer is disk queue length.

can you capture a few minutes of the flows coming into your NTA server and send them to me?
-
r0bert1, Id like to know more about you netflow environment. I didn't see your email address in your profile. Are you willig to chat about this? Andy

Would a table of AS to AS traffic work? Would you want to see this for the whole network (on the summary view) or would you want it at the Node level (Node view)?
-
I'll request a confirmation of the findings

Can you open a ticket on this? If you post the ticket number, I'll track it and document the problem and solution. Andy

You will have to apply VoIP SP2 again when you upgrade to Orion 9.0. The repair rolled back the SP. Andy

Hi All, Check Haley and Steve's posts above and try those fixes. If that does not work please open a ticket. I am tracking this issue and testing it. Andy

Yes - good explaination. It is not flipped after all. The SQL queries show, the negative condition places a NOT at the begining of the positive query and modifies the logical operator. The ALL condition SELECT Nodes.NodeID AS NetObjectID, Nodes.Caption AS Name FROM Nodes WHERE ( (Nodes.Status = '2') AND (Nodes.Severity =…

I would recommend RAID 0 for the log file drives.

Please open a ticket and post the ticket number back here. Thanks!

I just tried this on my machine and I don't see the flows from the Extreme switch either. I touught it would work but NetFlow format is the only officailly supported flow type for this tool.

If you expect very little traffic it is OK. Yes - if you don't specify then the router will. I like to specify the same interface NPM is using for managing the device.
-
can you elaborate on the dependancies between site 1 and site 2-5 network wise? Is site 1 a single path to the others? I'm trying to figure what we are solving.

He is refering to the trigger actions and using variable there. Perhaps Andy C. can paste a screen shot?
-
If you have those devices you could MIB walk them and see if the MIB is present. I don't have access to them here.

Ninja, The IP SLA module should replace any operation that was created from IP SLAM. If it is not doing this for you, please open a ticket. The replacement should occur at the first polling cycle in which the missing operation is detected. Andy

Yes - it looks like it's a case by case thing. I look at the alert logic in the database to see which one will work.
-
What I am suggesting would use a node trigger, not a group trigger. Gouping and setting the dependency on a parent object will take care of the alerts on clild objects. You don't need to build that into the alert. You may be complicating this too much. All you need to do is make the groups, set each group as being…

Dev has verified that CLI is required for operation setup and data collection, as well as path operation discovery. SNMP is not used for path operations. Thanks Tomas and Mav for the info!
