The two can end up competing for resources. The DC should not have any database intensive applications on it. It's too important for network services.
-
No - You can only turn sflow on, specify a destination and specify interfaces. You have to upgrade to get to sflow v5.

Hi Mdriscoll, One of the primary use cases of NetFlow is to disclose what is taking up WAN bandwidth as it is a recuring cost and as such requires management. It sounds like this device only passes data from the LAN to the WAN so you would be covered by using the WAN IF as your exporter. Andy

Your issue may be similar to this one where the user had incompatable SIM and HPIMA versions. Check the versions on working servers and non-working ones. http://thwack.solarwinds.com/thread/49244

Which product are you using here. (NPM or APM)

Hello oberlord, It is a bit difficult to troubleshoot this when the poller name is status and you are looking for status variables from a UnDP. What I mean is the when you receive "Status is Unknown" is it difficult to see if the poller is in an unknown status or the printer is. Can you post the poller and the transforms?…

There are a few of these in Content Exchange. http://thwack.com/search/thwacksearch.aspx?q=95th&s=media&stype=s&sub=orion-custom-reports

I think I ses the problem with the interface option not showing. This is a deployment of NCM and UDT so there is no concept of an interface in those.
-
APM does that

You might be experienncing a counter roll-over issue. Go into the setting interface -> Manage Nodes and check the nodes with those issues. Then edit those nodes and see if "Allow 64 bit counters" is checked.
-
I looks like you are on a pretty old version. Are you able to upgrade to a newer version? If so, please call support of assistance in the upgrade.
-
You can create reports then publish them to the web UI. To create the type of report you are describing you would need to do it through custom SQL. We don't assist in writting SQL so find a guru and buy him/her lunch! ;)

Hi Abdul, Check out the IP SLA free tool we released today. Should help with the types of things you mention here. Andy http://www.solarwinds.com/register/registrationform.aspx?Program=896&c=70150000000EQ0I
-
Hi Abdul, Thank you for taking the time to submit your feature enhancement request. If we were able to simulate the application traffic with IP SLA would this suffice for your measurements? It could be done on a hop-by-hop basis. Andy
-
If it is always the same port then define the application using that port number and report on the app. Does that do it or did I miss something?
-
No. No plans to support older versions of sFlow.
-
Most of the time in the upgrades and migration you are looking at will be in the upgrade steps. Considering you are moving to faster hardware, I would migrate first then carefully follow the steps in the upgrade instructions doc Marie has linked.
-
Can you post the trigger and reset conditions for the offending alert?
-
Do all the interfaces have valid and unique interface indexes? You can verify this using a packet capture on the Orion server or MIB walk on the router.
-
I'm no 65XX specialist... but it looks like the doc is saying that you can look at the NF data real time using the cli or if you use a collector you need the NDE. Collectors are generally thought of as historical reporters. Whether the collector is historical or real time is a function of the collector, not the exporter…
-
Have you seen these Orion blog posts?
-
Hi Jeff, This is not a supported feature today but the post has been marked for a PM to review. Andy
-
Maybe I'm thinking about this wrong but can't you just ping the servers by name?
-
Is it possible to add it to the core switch L3 link to the router? If all the switch traffic is a L2 you won't see much. BTW, I used to work for an MSP and we would place exporters on managed routers if heckled sufficiently.
-
It depends on any redundant paths. Is your topology 1) PE----WAN router--FW-- sw1---sw2--- LAN or 2) PE--- WAN Router -- FW-- --\SW1----LAN --\SW---- LAN ...where LAN is reachable by either switch via connection to the FW. Also, what do you want to accomplish by creating a string of dependenciess?

Hi southerls, We are working at making this easier within the search resources in NTA. It won't be in the very next release but not far downstream from that. Andy
-
You have the option to place NetFlow resources on NPM views. You could do this and remove the NTA tab. * Edit the NPM Node view and Interface view and add NetFlow resources you want users to see. * In Admin -> Account Manager edit the user account and set NetFlow Traffic Analysis Settings -> NetFlow Traffic Analysis View…

We do not support next hop reporting on 3.8, so v5 will work the same as v9 for now. You can remove AS zero in NetFlow Settings > Manage Autonomous Systems. http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/3210/NTA+3.8+Autonomous+System+%28AS%29+Monitoring+Requirements
-
Just to be sure, did you also apply the 2 applicable hot fixes? If not, apply those and see if that helps. If you have applied them please open a ticket.

Here is a link to what we are working on now.
