Thx Andy

Some dependancy suppression can be done now. Samples are in the paper and the Orion AG, but it is fairly complicated and labor intensive. I'll have to let the PM address future plans. Andy

sedmo's alert looks correct. Have you been able to test it?
-
You can add the management custom via the Universal Device Poller in Orion.
-
OK - I'll chase this down
-
Thanks for the correction. I think I'll opt for the replacement lunch! ;)
-
The way I do that is to look for a report that already has a time period that is similar to what I want and copy that time period over into the SQL. You may have to edit it to get the exact days you need. This I do by buying lunch for my local SQL guru. ;)

If you want to manually configure theprobes take a look here. Otherwise the steps are in the IP SLAM Admin Guide.
-
That is not an issue we have run into before. If you open a ticket we can help you get this solved.

send the capture to andy.mcbride@solarwinds.com

There is a document called "Upgrade instructions" in the Customer Portal under the DOWNLOAD YOUR SOFTWARE or REGISTER YOUR SOFTWARE sections. Look in one of these areas for Orion or an Orion module areas and you'll see a link to the document set. make sure you - * Save the document set locally - do not try to run it from…
-
Sorry - I should have included - it does require an IP SLA responder on the target.
-
Sure. Just define the site using the shadow router only. As long as it is reachable and you have access to the RTTMON MIB on it you should be OK.
-
8.2(3) should be OK. I have seen this issue when an exporter has a destination to collector configured but the config for the flow is a problem. Have you checked your config against the KB posted? I know the ASA has a limited set of show commands available but if there is something analogous to 'show ip flow export' that…

Debbi, I am adding the ability to search globally as a feature enhancement to Traffic View Builder. This in conjunction with using IP Address Groups for those small subnets will allow you to look at small subnets not directly exporting flows and see who is doing what. It won't do the exact report you indicate above but…
-
Were you running 3.1 SP2 when the problem was happening.
-
Doesn't matter, but keep in mind that there might be an environmental factor in your deployment which caused the issue you saw today.

Hi Guru, Shame on me - an ex-Lucent guy not that familar with Avaya! :) Has the Avaya device been set up to send flows to NTA? NTA only opperates as a passive listner, by default on port 2055. Andy
-
Thanks - I'll have Support give you a call. Andy
-
Do you have NTA installed on the Orion server?
-
The target needs to be an IOS device.
-
I think what the users are after is this..... To get from octets to KB we use ____ To get from KB to MB we use _______ For all larger convertions we use a factor of_____ This applies to the following resource types____
-
Thanks for the input Bryan. I'll see what we can do. Andy
-
Can you try again? That link works fine from here.
-
N probe does but its Win32 based.
-
Sorry - I should have been more complete in my post. Add an IP Adddress Group in NTA Settings -> IP Address Groups and use thes ranges I have. Then use the canned report for top XX IP Address Group in Report Writer.
-
I'm not sure what the final report will look like - to make sure I'm clear, I've asked dev to see if we can do this with existing features or maybe a SQL query.

SAN write performance has improved significantly over the past couple of years and we now have some clients running quite well on SANS. Because of this we have softened out stance on SANS from "not recommended" to "proceed with caution". Performance of a directly attached RAID subsystem has far fewer variables than that of…

Do you use NBAR today?
