Have you seen the "What we are working on" post? If you are interested in participating in the beta, please fill out this survey. The current Beta 2 does not have this specific event yet, but we are working on adding it for the Beta3 (coming soon).

jorjjj, We are still working on this. We expect to have something to send VERY soon. I'll make sure you are on the email. When you add a device, you will need to specify which ports you want to collect information on. However, this port license is not the same as an interface count in NPM. Mav

Karl, I appreciate you sticking with this. This was certainly not intentionally designed to be such a pain for our users. It's clear we could have done a better job of getting feedback when the re-discovery process was built. To that end, if you would like to jump on a Go To Meeting with myself and some of our developers,…

There are some issues with Juniper switches (mainly around VLANs and Layer 3). Many of these issues are fixed in the upcoming service release, but there are still some issues we are investigating. As we have users request Juniper support, we are more than happy to work with y'all to find issues and fix them. If you are an…

Deltona, a little more detail to help you from our developers. The value of sysUpTime at the time the interface entered its current operational state. If the current state was entered prior to the last re-initialization of the local network management subsystem, then this object contains a zero value. To compute absolute…

bkattan, do you regularly use all of this historic information? It looks like you have increased the defaults of all of the historical retention settings. If you do not use this data regularly then I suggest putting them back to default. If you are required to keep it for compliance requirements but don't actually access…

Haha, ok thanks for the full examples. I've logged a feature request for this in IPAM.

Michael, it sounds like you are asking for status to be impacted by factors other than status. Unfortunately, this is not supported today. It is something we have heard a few times and are considering. I'm double checking to make sure there is not a work around, but I'm pretty sure what you are trying to do today is not…

User Delegation is something we are very interested in and are currently looking in to. You can see the "What we are working on" post here.

The checkbox is not stored directly in the database. When you check the box, we create pollers for the select. You can see these pollers in the Pollers table. In the case of VMware hosts, we use the IVIM module to actually poll for this data so specific pollers aren't created. Are these hosts being correctly recognized as…

NTA updates the list with releases. We pull the latest information from an online data source. You can manually update data for specific blocks, but that is not recommended.

Sean, for your last request (like a UDT port to an NPM interface), this is something that didn't quite make it for v1 but we are planning on getting done soon and there isn't really a good work around for that today. Dev is looking in to your other issues and should respond with more information.

michiganlaz, Unfortunately you are correct about the account levels. We are working on getting this fixed quickly. Bryan, #4 When you run Port Discovery, the first screen should include all SNMP enabled nodes. The only reason a node shouldn't be in that screen is because it doesn't have SNMP enabled. #7 That is weird...…

Hi Disturbedguy, I apologize for the delay in anyone responding to your question. This is a feature we know customers are interested in, but it is not something we are actively working on today. We have other items that are unfortunately a higher priority. However, as part of our work to make sure we know what our…

So if you have an event in SolarWinds, you want to generate an SNMP trap for HPOV correct? If you open Advanced Alert Manager modify the alert you are interested in and add a new trigger action for "Send an SNMP Trap". You can pass variables in the trap so you get actionable information. Is that what you are looking for?
-
Have you used the Subnet Allocation Wizard? This will show you all available subnets in a specific supernet. These screens are intended for monitoring as much as allocation.

SolarC, My first recommendation is to upgrade to the latest version (1.7). You should find this in your customer portal. When you do an 'nbtstat -A IP', where IP is replaced by the IP address having the problem, does it resolve to what we are showing or something else? Also, when you do an 'nslookup IP' do the results…

Don, what do you mean by "having to scroll through a list ...". Are you talking about on the search page or on the UDT Nodes resource?
-
giantbean, We have confirmed this is a bug based on your report. We will try to get it fixed in the next release. Thanks, Mav

Unfortunately this was not addressed in NPM 10.4. The work we are planning in the next release includes additional topology work and I have opened 196061 to consider implementing global options to disable topology collection and to allow users to change the default to not collect topology. The default would likely remain…

The "Find Connected Port" feature of NCM is available if you install the NPM-NCM Integration. When this is installed, you should see a resource with a search field (see below image). If you are interesting in advanced device tracking, I recommend reading this blog post that explains the various solutions we have for these…

Warja, can you provide a little more detail about the problems you are having? Is this when you use Flow Navigator or search? Does the browser completely lock up (totally non-responsive) or does it take forever to load and fail? A screenshot would be very helpful.

Thanks for the great feedback everyone! The new charts should mostly be considered as a Customer Technology Preview. We wanted to expose a few charts now so we could collect feedback form users before migrating all of the remaining charts. Please keep the feedback coming and let us know if there is anything specific we can…

Can you use something like wireshark to make sure the traps are getting to the server. Also, make sure the Orion server is listening on the same port as the Isilson is sending the traps to (netstat -b -n should help you here).
-
Thanks for the great and constructive comments everyone. This is exactly the type of feedback that helps us make better products. Just to set the right expectations, we have no plans to make this free or include as part of another product purchase (i.e. NPM). We are very interested in making it have as much value as…

This has not changed in IPAM yet. This is one of the reasons why you get more IPs than you are really licensed for (ex: it is licensed for 1000 but you actually get 1024). Obviously, there are some situations where this "rounding up" is still insufficient and we are considering addressing this but have no immediate plans…

Are you both on IP SLAM 3.5.1? If not, please upgrade to that version and let me know. I'm tracking the cases internally here. Mav

No changes to the product have been made as of yet to take this new information in to light. It's something we are tracking but unfortunately will not be part of the release we are currently working on.

jlonon, you want the actual application generating the traffic and not just what computer is doing it? NTA does not have this functionality, but you can export the data from NTA and manually collect netstat data (netstat -b from the Windows command line) to try and correlate this.
