  • Not sure if this is the place to ask but I have Barracuda Load Balancers, typical OIDs would be 1.3.6.1.4.1.20632.5.2 How can I tell if these are in the NPM MIB file, when I do an SNMPWalk of the device the 20632 don't show up and when I try to get information using this OID in UnDP I get OID not Supported. Is this telling…
  • Netpath certainly looks interesting but I just hope NPM is a lot more stable than the current version, in the past Solarwinds have been too much in a hurry to add bells and whistles at the expense of the day to day stuff that is the foundation of the product, I'm sure your support staff will be hoping its stable too.
  • I am trying to Install and Configure Net-SNMP on WIndows Server 2008 (64 bit) so that we can use SNMP v3 however I am struggling, does anyone have any procedures for completing an installation, I have configured Net-SNMP as best I can but still it won't work at all with version 3, I have version 2c working fine.
  • Thanks for the confirmation that's what I thought.
  • The switches are predominantly Nortel Switches, I am assuming CDP is for Cisco devices
  • When I go on the Node Details screen for one of my Switches I don't have a Network Tab and I haven't seen that Network Topology screen before so I am assuming you are on a different version of NPM, I am running v12.1. I have gone on my database and run a query against the TopologyConnections table and listed the Layer 2…
  • Thanks slaj, that is what I did and the logs generated didn't have any entries apart from the conversion ones I refer to in my last entry.
  • I have tried both and still get the same result. I have got both L2 and L3 selected in the resources but I have noticed when I click on 'Connect Now' in Network Atlas it doesn't find any 'L2' connections could this be the issue and if so how do I go about discovering the L2 connections apart from having it selected in…
  • As per my original post the resources that have the blue question marks don't appear under Manage Nodes thats why I always had to use the System Manager to delete them. Any one else have this problem in 10.2 or is this something Orion have overlooked, this isn't the first time I have updated Orion and found I have lost…
  • Did this issue get resolved, I would be interested to know what the fix was as I am not happy with my pollers, I am noticing very intermittently nodes going yellow and I am thinking this is because they aren't being polled.
  • It would be nice to have the option of the 'Directory Size Monitor' but I can't find it in my APM anywhere, consequently I have tried copying in the script you have given but I just get the error 'Path not found' I am trying to monitor the size of a directory on a server and I know the directory is shared, where do I need…
  • Thanks for letting me know what your fix was, I have already tried this and sadly it didn't make any difference so I will raise a ticket, thanks again.
  • Well looking at the screen shot on slaj's response I am setting my monitor up exactly the same way but it still doesn't work. I don't know how to set up for an external node so I am just using any of my servers as the node as I assume this doesn't matter as it is testing the URL I enter in the monitor. I set the debug to…
  • I have set up a Monitor which will send out an alert if certain Events appear in our Windows server Event Logs, I wanted to have the email send out the visual of the event log to save anyone having to click on the link and look at the full web page . The problem is I need a dynamic url as this is monitoring a lot of…
  • I upgraded to Version 10.2 this week prior to this I was on version 10.0 and whenever I saw the blue question marks I new something had been changed on the device and I just went on to System Manager and deleted the resource. This method was quick and easy, I couldn't do it from admin on the browser because the resource…
  • We are currently running with 10.0, I must admit I was hoping there would of been major improvements in the alerting by the time we got to version 10. Not to worry, I am sure you like me have enough on your plate, I will re-raise the issue in the new year if I haven't fathomed a way round it. Thanks for yout time.
  • Ok I set that and sure enough I got a few log files created in the location you said, all were 1k files and all were empty.
  • I have the same problem, the gauges on my HP servers running domino are all displaying 100% memory useage on the gauges but dsiplaying ok in the disk volume section. This is bad enough but the top 10 nodes by percent memory used appears to be using the gauge information too. Did anyone come up with an answer to changing…
  • Sorry we never did get a resolve for this issue, at the time we were just testing NPM v10. On our live system we just don't use the auto discovery option at all because it tends to bring up device IP addresses we just don't need to monitor so it just generates work removing these.
  • Yes both ends of the interface are monitored in NPM and if I click on the interface I can see the utilization on the details screen. I think I will open a ticket with Solarwinds, thanks
  • I tried what you said and disabled the javascript and viewed the source, all I am searching on is the title, I entered greater manchester but it still failed, I have no problem you trying it yourself to see if it fails for you, the web site is www.gmp.police.uk If it works for you then perhaps you could send me a screen…
  • Although the method above does allow me to delete the picture if I try and use the same name to add another picture it says the name has been used, I would of thought the name would have been deleted too. Is there a record kept somewhere else of the file names used for the pictures?
  • I have found the instructions about creating a DirectLink account but I can't find anywhere that tells you how you use it to display a Solarwinds Dashboard in Sharepoint or am I missing something. Any advice on setting up visibility of a Solarwinds dashboard on Sharepoint would be appreciated.
  • Unfortunately that doesn't work the alert doesn't resolve the ${ID} to the relavent component, it looks like I am not going to be able to do this which is a shame, thanks for your trouble.
  • I do already have SNMP running on all my servers but I don't know how to pick off reboots in the event log and get them to be used to record Availability figures.
  • Brandon, Thanks, my company won't install version 10 until its at its first service pack stage as long as the existing version doesn't have any 'major' issues, but thanks for letting me know that this issue is being looked at. John
  • I have been into PerfMon on the Exchange servers and it looks to me as if the MSEXCHANGE Database performance counters are missing off those servers that are showing the greyed out counters, I will have to raise an incident with my Customer Services department to see if they can reload all the counters on these servers.…
  • I have resolved the issue of not seeing the option for a 'table' by changing the 'advanced' settings on the UnDP from 'text' to 'none' and from 'get next' to 'get table', when I did this I could then select 'table' as my web display on the node details screen. However your response has raised a different question, I had…
  • Thanks for the suggestions but I have had no joy, I tried using just one word picking something from the body of the html source but whatever I choose it fails when I put it in the 'search string' field in the template. I have tried setting the APM logs to debug but no log file is generated in the location stated and the…
  • It is easy to view a list of filtered eventids, that isn't the issue, in Windows 2003 the list of filtered events showed the account number and the caller computer name however the filtered list in the Windows 2008 event log doesn't show them until you click on each individual filtered event and there in is the problem…
